[Guide] How to "avoid" Bad Stuff

This guide will teach you the basics of avoiding "bad" stuff such as viruses, and so on. It will teach you how to recognize some basic "bad" stuff by just looking at them.

    PART ONE - WEBSITES

Some "bad" stuff to look out for on websites:
    1. There is a status bar on the bottom of your browser. The whole page has loaded but it still says "Transferring" or says a link, loading, etc. When this happens, it means that it is putting things onto your computer, and when the site is already fully loaded, there is a high chance it could be malware. Since some people don't know what a status bar is, I'll use sythe.org as an example.

    PART TWO - Limewire
Limewire does not have viruses in the program itself. People get viruses from downloading viruses instead of songs, or whatever they're downloading.

One easy way of noticing a virus over a file you want is file size and type. Use the "chart" below.
    Songs - A few Megabytes - MP3 (Has a music sign)
Movies - A few hundred Megabytes - WMA (i think) , AVI, MPEG
Games - A few hundred Megabytes to a few Gigabytes - .ZIP, .EXE
Viruses (If you want them) - A few to a Few Hundred Kilobytes.

You should still scan all files after download.

Yea, this is just to avoid them in the first place because antiviruses can't always cure your computer if it gets infected real bad.

Pretty basic, but usefull nonetheless. I suggest Ad-Adware and SpyBot Search and Destroy, they are effective. Limewire bit was good, i already knew it.

The LimeWire bit was kind of not good...99% of the time, when you download a virus off LimeWire, it was embedded into what you downloaded. And almost ALL files you can download can have a virus on them, triggered by a certain keystroke or a mouseclick. The simplest viruses (a simple, hard-drive shitter) can be only a few KB, just a few lines of code. LimeWire is total SHIT anyways. Just use .torrents, but if you must use LimeWire, *make SURE* you virus scan EVERY FILE you download BEFORE you click on the files themselves, as usually a mouseclick is enough to install the virus on your computer.

I don't like it when people call limewire shit. I have used it for over 3 years and have not got a single virus. I guess it depends all on the user. I just hate it when people say.. "limewire is virus".

This is terrible. The picture is irrelevant, and the guide is very common knowledge. 0/10. Terrible.
