    [Photoshop] Chrome abstracts!

Alright, so you may say using the 'Chome' filter in photoshop is nooby, but really, it's an amazing tool for making abstracts.
Lets start off by making a simple one... Once you understand how to make what you want, you can let your imagination run wild with it.
Okay first, make a new blank file, 800x600 is a nice and descent size.
I'll go through this in steps to make it simpler to understand.

    1. Make a new layer, fill it in black and go to Filter>Render>Lens flare:Brightness 150, put it in the middle of your black layer.

    2. Go to Filter>Sketch>Chrome: Detail - 4, Smoothness - 7

    3. Go to filter>Disort>Wave and play around with the controls there. Make it look however you like it. Now go to Distort>Twirl and play around with that.
Now it should look something like this:

If it doesent look exactly, don't worry, your settings won't be the same as mine.

    4. Now make a new layer, put it underneith your current layer, and do what you did in step 1, but don't add any filters to it. Make your layer that has chrome etc on it overlay.

    5. Now go onto your layer with just a black background and a lensflare and go to hu/sat editor (Ctrl + U), click colorise and play around with the top and second sliders.

Easy to follow, but kinda simple and ugly...I was hoping you would create something more impressive with this tut, but nonetheless, well-put together guide, 7/10.

I was just telling how to use the method. I do agree though, my final result was pretty ugly.
This was made using the same method:

Made to be my desktop background, verrry hi-res xD

Hmm, you must have done one of the steps wrong - try to check your work. I made one and it looked just like his, only with slightly different colors :p
