You can still get lamps if you made you're account that far back. You just go to lumb and get them. Also...you can use genie lamps and books of knowledge. I have a friend who has 10hp 60 def that way. Also a friend whos level 3 with 70 slayer that way.

 

The defence is not by books of knowledge and lamps.
