Any advice for what I am going through?

Hello to everyone who is reading this. I am not here to play off on a sob story, that’s not who I am. After lots of years of doing nothing with my life, my brain had processed what I should do. My mother is a teacher and helps others get setup with jobcorpse. One day her and I were speaking and she had told me she had seen lots of her students succeed while going through with jobcorpse. As far as a “Trade” I am looking into computer science/Tech.

I’ll be leaving on the 10th of this month. I’m going to the ( Cascades ) bear Seattle. I am so nervous and don’t know anything about this program, besides what I see on paper. 6 months - 2 years is how long I’ll be gone, it will be for the best.

Does anyone have tips, suggestions, positive words of advice, anything that will help me while being there?
Maybe someone to talk to while I am gone? A friend to lean on and open up to?

Thank you for reading this. I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated whenever I see something on this thread❤️

Hey there! I'm very happy that hear your mom is helping you out with jobcorpse. It seems like it would really be a good opportunity for you to get your foot out there and start doing your own thing.

Quite honestly, I believe that you'll be just fine. If computer science is what you're aiming for, you'll get the hang of it as well as their environment. I remember when I left home for a year when I was much younger it was the most terrifying thing I could've imagined but I am very thankful that I did it. That year changed a lot for me and opened up a lot of doors that I otherwise wouldn't have access to. I hope that you take in the experience with a positive and "go get it" attitude and don't give up on it.

I would also love it if you kept me updated on your grind! I certainly do not mind talking with others and if you want to talk feel free to DM me here on Sythe :)

Take this in as a new chapter in your life and you should be excited! I'm very happy to hear you're doing this for yourself. Just change his you look at it and you'll feel a totally different way. I look forward to hearing from you for sure! :p

Thank you so much for your positive words! I remember at first when I had discussed jobcorpse with my Mother, it was very intimidating. The closer it gets to me leaving, the more nervous and anxious I get. Overtime I have learned that it’s okay to go out of my comfort zone because that’s what will bring success. Anybody who wants to jump into a program like this thinking “I know everything about this program and nobody is going to tell me what to do” is an absolute idiot. Those type of people are not going to do well in this program because they already know everything ( What they think ).
I’m nervous, scared, anxious and have so much anxiety. I want something challenging and hard for my success.
I’ve slacked for many years she is as a drop out in 10th grade. Truthfully from the bottom of my heart, I feel like this is going to open many doors for my future and bring light into my world.

I’ll be sure to make a discord so we can keep in contact!

It's only for the best if you think it's for the best. Don't ever let people corner you into thinking spending 6-24 months away is for the best.

Best of luck to you! Being nervous is part of the process, but I promise you it won't last long. My one piece of advice: meet new people/expand your network. Sure the information you learn there will be invaluable, but sometimes finding the right connection can help you more than any degree or certificate can. Obviously learning and your studies are important, there would be no point of being there without it. I'm just encouraging you to talk to people and maybe learn some new things from them. Again, good luck to you, I'm sure this will be a great experience.
