The signature is more of a joke, than an attack on people with bad grammar. And besides, English is not my first language. I try to improve my speech, pronunciation and grammar on a daily basis. Also, I don't give a fuck about those crappy amendments the US has. The US is the country of censored media, which is a violation of the 1st amendment. Bunch of fucking hypocrites. And I know not everybody lives in the Netherlands, why would I think that?

Well put, the people that are heavily involved with the US such as China and Britain will be hit the hardest as well most of Western Europe in my opinion. Hopefully they can get this thing turned around and fix it, but who knows how that will go... Only time will tell. :(

I don't think we'd recover. If we do, it'd be horribly unorganised, it would take alot of time.

Well not all countries are dependent on the stability of the US dollar. Some countries are backed up by gold. Although there will be countries who will be affected by this recession, the severity of it will differ. So you can't infer that a global recession will follow just because one country is failing to sustain its economy.

We have failed once again. We did not learn from our mistakes. One of the main factors that contributed to the fall of the US and world economy during the late 30's, also known as the Great Depression, was the easiness of credit. The problem with credit is, when the bank doesn't take enough collateral, the money no longer has any value. It is the same as just printing off money. You can't keep printing off more money because it loses its value. That's what happened again. I can't believe we did not learn from our mistakes.

Another factor was excessive CEO pay that the government wasn't able to control, but we wont get into that.

So basically, in the end some countries will be affected, and some won't. As for the level of severity, I believe that it won't be high. As long as the average American brightens up a bit and starts caring about America, and not the war on [some country in the middle east].

Jesus Christ, how ignorant are some people, just because you see it happening in New York don't mean its not happening in London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid if I've made my point - Did Americans descend from true Americans?...no. There's a world out there, go find a atlas and you'll learn that the U.S. is even smaller than Canada! Yeah ... get that =)

Technically speaking a recession is two consecutive terms of negative economic growth, which I’m pretty sure no main countries have had yet. there has been a downturn in growth but thats not realy a problem, it was allways going to happen.

All countries will feel the effect of America’s downturn. It’s by far the world’s biggest economy; its problem is everybody’s problem. It’s a double blow because it affects all the worlds banks and America has reduced its imports.

Australia has been hit pretty hard. The media sais share market is down ¼ but its more like a ½ and the property market has already started to fall. Aus interest rate is under 5% and its allmost certain to drop more.

allthough Most economists tip this will be the “recession we hardly noticed”, bailout packages should reduce the severity of the downturn and invester confidence will return (history shows most downturns last between 6-15 months). However economists often get it wrong.

I really hope the economy recovers. Obama has a lot ahead of him, and I believe that the other major countries will start plummetting as well. With our country being among the most wealthies in the world, our export/import businesses are steadily declining. This means less business for the countries we do business with, which means that it will start affecting them on a larger scale.

Iceland is in Anarchy because of the recession of the US.

    The US needs a war.

A true war, not the measly operations we are in now. WWII is what brought us out of The Great Depression.

Also, we need to establish a 'War Bond" Like we had in WWII.

You buy a $25 bond for $17, it matures, get the profit. All in all, this helped fund WWII.

To Finniscool, I know you said practically.. But, Not the whole world is in recession!, There is a few country's that aren't doing bad, i think i remember hearing Russia are not in Depression.

If we go into a Full Blown Depression again, It will be worse than last time, yes i know what you're going to say "We learnt from our mistakes", That may be, but Now EVERYONE is working, Men, Women.. During the Last Depression, Women Were mostly House bound (And no, im not being sexist) and most men Worked in factory's or labour.
