This is the forum for reason, not mindlessly stating your beliefs.

Hmm, that is interesting Shredderbeam, that might be an interesting test, but god works in round about ways, I have full faith that he would prove, but maybe not so much if I did it, but if a non believer did it. I'll have to think about that.

In the meantime, perhaps you would like to see a study carried out by the Templeton Foundation:

That is very interesting. I'll have to think this over. I can't think of the verse off the top of my head, but I believe god says do not test him, but I could be mistaken.

Doesn't matter what he says. If the argument against him is more rational than the argument in his favor, let it stand. Just like anything in life.

Such events doesn't mean that you should fully dismiss the argument in his favor.

There is a god. You can argue 'DNA made us, not god'. Well I have a question for you, where did the first person come from? We all know that there needs to be a person to reproduce, now if there was no one before that 'first' person, How did people come to be? What happened, did this 'first' person just magically appear out of the sky? Obviously something created it, before there were other people to create it- this something=god. None of you make sense, take the time to think about what I just wrote

For the people who might get confused with what Im saying:

1- The first person had to have been created by god. Reason being is it is the FIRST person.. if there was no one before him, what happened? Appear out of thin air? I think not.. Your all saying we were created by DNA, but if their was no DNA before man kind, how did man kind come about. Think about it people, you will realize your a bunch of ignorant buffoons..

If the disbelievers theory fails, the believers theory is not presumed correct by default.

Well that's the issue at hand, isn't it? This topic is known as "Abiogenesis".

The current theories hold that the formation of DNA, or other replicators, from the basic elements of Earth isn't that difficult. Indeed, the Miller/Urey experiment showed that the basic components of amino acids form quite readily in the presence of electricity: http://www.chem.duke.edu/~jds/cruise_chem/Exobiology/miller.html

Wait, why do you say that? What justification do you have?

oh yeah, the big bang. Please, a huge explosion that caused the entire universe to be created.. how did this so called 'explosion' come to be. Usually, you need to have something in order for an explosion to occur. Such as chemcials/elements. Now the big bang theory stats that this was the creation of the universe.. how did this happen, if there was nothing there in the beginning to cause the explosion. This is the same argument I have with the god issue. There must be something there first to cause other things to happen... now the best possible explanation for this would be a god. You can give me a ton of other explanations but they will all lead up the the same question 'what created the stuff, in order for 'YOUR THEORY' to happen'... and Shredder, I don't want to go into detail now about everything, because Im not feeling to good, and its cold =p, but the answer to your last question lies in this post..

You said "Oh yeah, The big band" as if there is no chance that this is what could of happened? So it's more likely that there is a god that can watch every single person in the world, every second of every day?

Did you think before you speak? =|

How would the best possible explanation of this be that god caused it to happen? There's no proof of a god, so I don't think it is.

Your missing the point. What created the big bang? Something must have created it.. like I said no one really knows what happened, but if your going to say something happened - big bang in this case - can you back it up and explain what caused it?

I strongly agree with you, seeing how there is no evidence. But don't get me wrong, I won't interfere with other peoples beliefs. They can have their own form of worship and I can have mine.

Ah the old first cause argument...
Now, if we assume everything has a first cause, then we should ask what the first cause was for the big bang. You might argue that a god was the first cause for the big bang. The problem with that is that it is a contradiction. If everything needs a first cause, then god also needs a first cause.
Maybe you argue that another god created god? But then we run into the same problem, who created that other god? If you keep following ad infinitum path you have an infinite chain of creators.
Now, maybe you say the rules of the universe don't apply to god and that he has always existed. But then, why not just say the rules of the universe don't apply to the big bang? It is a simpler explanation after all.
    Think of it this way:

Wikipidia is a load of bullshit. It could be edited by anyone and anything. If you wanted to say that the big bang happened because someone ate a taco and let out a nasty fat, you could. bring me some proof from a real site.
