well basically i have the worst knee ever lol. right knee and i dislocated it last night. On april 10th i dislocated it as well. Its a bio stellar dislocation or something its when like the knee comes out of the socket and is on the side of my leg.

I will probably need surgery i came here asking how the recovery from knee surgery is.

Depends how bad it is I guess. What exactly is wrong with it?

If its just a knee cap in the wrong area you can get it taped up, use a brace, or have a little basic surgery to put it in the right area.

Torn meniscus isn't too bad all they do is scope your knee and smooth the cartlidge out.

Torn ACL is a sucky surgery but if its just your ACL it isn't too bad. You are out playing sports for awhile.

I tore my ACL, tore my meniscus, and strained my PCL in football last year. I was out for a whole year of sports, and on crutches for about 6 months. It was a really bad injury. I have recovered but not fully. I am slower than I used to be which is common with most ACL tears. It also depends if you tore a ligament on which surgery you get. The 3 I know of are cadaver tendon from the ankle, patella tendon where they take it out of your knee, and part of your hamstring. Cadaver tendon from the ankle is probably the strongest ligament you can get for your knee but takes longer to heal because its a body part from a different person and has to adapt and get blood flow through when it becomes a ligament.

Let me be first to say leg injuries in general are shitty. I broke my leg last year while skateboarding. I shattered my tibia and tore all the leggaments in my ankle. I had to have reconstructive surgery, and now i have 8 screws and two plates in my leg >.<

Depending on how drastic your injury, mobility will be a major issue. If the doctor tells you to use a cane as a walking aid, you should ask for crutches to start off with. Personally walking with a cane is hard as hell..atleast for me.

Keep your leg propped up, but not too high. You want to remain comfortable at all times. The doctor may give you a few "excersies" to do to make sure you heal properly. You actually WANT to do them lol..it really helps.

Hope some of this kinda helped?

If you tore something, it's going to suck recovering.

If it's just a dislocation, then you probably won't need surgery.

I don't think Trochea is a word. I know my knee cap used to sit low to the left and I had to tape it while I was in therapy.

    bad knee

going into my junior year of high school. i was at football camp and a kid rolled over my knee and i hyper extended my right knee. i got a MRA and it turned out that i tore my ACL MCL and medial meniscus. with my knee surgery i was up and walking on my feet within a week after, but it also depends on your surgeon and how they feel. but it was close to 6 months after surgery to get back into sports...

you may have torn your patella ligament(this holds your knee cap in place)

    good luck...

    bad knee

Firstly i tore my ACL off straight off, torn my cartilage (meniscus) and dented/bruised my bone, i did this from landing with straight legs in a football (AFL) contest and my femar and tibia hit, then it twisted around which caused the meniscus to shread and my Ligament to snap off.

i had my surgery 5 months later (still growing) which was the 3rd of September, i can now walk, and ALMOST jog. i was walking very gingerly within 3 days of surgery and within 1 week i was fine... before anyone calls me a liar sayin that impossible i have many contributing factors.
ONE- since the gap between when i did it/surgery was so big i could build the muscle
TWO- the surgery went REAL well
THREE- i had a plate put in to help strengthen it

from what i have gathered there are either some FREAKS or liars, the 2 obvious ones are as followed

why i believe this isn't true is 6 months on crutches is rediculous, i mean yes he did it bad but i mean 3 months MAYBE 4 MAX on crutches, they try get u off them within 2 weeks.... i dunno if ya surgon was dodgy but sorry i find that very hard to believe that u spent 6 months on crutches but was back to playin full contact sport in another 6 months

for starters WTF! is a MRA i guess u mean MRI, and 6 months back to sport. u could have freakin jesus do ya surgery... if u do you acl, pcl and meniscus and u go back in 6 months prepare to redo ya knee....you sir are a flat out lier as no physio in there right mind should/would let u back to sport after 6 months

and if he tore his patella, he would be in HUGE pain every time he steped as it would push alot of forward momentum onto his knee cap and OUCH!

IF any1 has any questions about the knee i will try help, if u think there is something wrong with what i am saying please argue cause i believe i am 99.999 percent right

First I meant MRI. Besides that how you going to call me a liar. I didn't tear my pcl I tore the mcl to completely different things but how you going to tell me how long it took me to get back into a sport it was only my knee. Forgot you know me personally. I got the surgery in august and I was back into sports by the winter season

swim... No pressure on any joints, If there are any medical pools that have put tons of salt or magnesium in the pool you'll float more the normal, second FULL body work out, I think it burns a little less then sex, also builds back and upper body muscles, and if you do it for a long enough time, unlike weight lifting makes you bulky swimming makes you lean yet muscular
