New style, fail, but something different

From taking rawr im phats advice on taking up a new style, I surfed the interwebs and found a good tut that I might try to make my own style based on. (grundge-ish)

Followed exactly from tutorial (same renders filters ect.)

the first one is ok, but I don't really like the second one. In the first one I like the effects used, and just a cool idea... you should try to make the text 'tattoo like' on the render like the dragon he has. I just think that would look cool.

 

I liked those sigs. Maybe the head in the first sig seems a little strange, but its 9/10 overal

 

Yeah, I was gonna say to look around on tutorials, maybe bookmark the ones that come out extremely good on them and just adapt from the certain ones and learn the tricks. Make something of your own.

 

I like everything else tha the text. looks alot like my favourite style like 1 year ago. have like 80 sigs made with that style

 

The sigs created from the tuts are pretty good. But here's the thing, tuts are great 'learning' tools and when you just read and follow them you aren't really testing your skills, you are just following a tutorial.
I'm not trying to hate on you or anything. I'm just trying to make you better. Believe me, once you get past the 'following the tuts' part in your gfx style you will become alot better. Trust me, I use to do the same exact thing.

It looks like you've followed tuts made 3 years ago, they were made when people didn't have as much knowledge as now and the sigs are mainly brush brush render border.

 

Its alot more than that, Ill give the PSD if needed.
And you're not the one to be speaking.
Your sig is just render > C4D > erase C4D > GRAYSCALE

 

Yeah, For a while a was doing my own work but it was repeating so I'm just looking for tuts to learn some different things for grunge sigs.

 

I don't recommend grunge style. It's quite old and most people don't find it to look to great. Check out gamerenders.com's tutorial section.
