    Some basic c4d guidelines-

Two types, effect and render. Effect c4d are usually set to either screen, lighten, or linear dodge, then they are erased in parts. Render c4d can be used as your main focal or can serve to greatly compliment a render/sprite ect in your signature. These are usually on a normal blending mode and lightly smudged in places to blend.

Effect c4d should not be overused and be your only way of gaining effects in a signature(my opinion). I personally believe render c4d to be difficult to use effectively(don't let that discourage you) but can make a signature work great especially if you make it look as if the c4d is meant to be there. Make it part of the picture.

Look at this signature, it is not mine but belongs to Firebug of gamerenders.com.

Look at the way he has used those c4ds.

Thanks L thats exactly what i needed ^_^

I see what you mean by making them "part" of the picture.. Im just not great at picking c4ds to go with signatures >_<

But i suppose ill learn through trial and error..

    Thanks Bbri :D

Your welcome. Don't worry to much about things not looking right to much at the moment, just keep trying. Trial and error is really the only way to learn so your on the right track hehe. Tutorials can help, but you usually just take a few things away from then and then have to go do some trial and error to make those work right for you.

I think you should've changed the color of the C4D to match the render more.
And of course listen to Bbris advice.

That's a pretty good signature of for a first. I'm sure you'll get better in the future :)

I totally agree with Bbri. When first using c4d people have a tendency to use them wrong and try to make them really stick out. The thing is, the more subtle the effect the better. Most people using c4d's will make them the 'secondary' effects and help create the right flow in a sig with them.

Go with Bbri's advice and you'll be making top-grade sigs in no time
