How to dis-engage a combination to an iPod! Without iTunes!

You can keep your music by using this method, along with keeping all your music. You do not need to be on the computer you first synced the iPod with, neither.

    Step 1
Plug your iPod into the USB cord, plug your USB cord into the USB slot on your computer.
Go to my computer; a drive with the name of your iPod will be placed there. Click it.

    Step 2
Once in the iPod folder, go to the toolbar at the top and click "Tools > Folder Options..."
    Click on the "View" tab
Find the text near the bottom that says "Show hidden files and folders" and check the circle. Click ok.
You will now notice a new folder that came up in the iPod folder called "iPod_Control"

    Step 3
Navigate your way into the "iPod_Contol" folder, and then click on the "Device" folder

    Step 4
Right-click on the file that is named "_locked" (its only named that if you have a combination set) and then go to "Rename"
    Rename the file "_unlocked"

I hope it helped. If you are having error messages, troubles, or anything else give me a PM and I will get to it.

Truly a nice guide. Everything is well put together and easy to understand. Very good work, 9.5/10.

This is how guides should look like. Best I've seen in quite some time.

    Wow, thank you.

I will most defiantly continue to create guides when I find things out.

Thanks very much for the feedback.

    Very nice guide 10/10

But I dont have an ipod, so i cant test it...

Is that an encrypted file? Because I know when you lock an ipod, its a combo if im not mistaken, and if that file is not encrypted, you should be about the see the Combo inside. :p
