Report Function

Please remove or reduce the amount of time it takes to report someone. When there's a really awful amount of spam somewhere, I have to go to the spammer forum and report every single one.

If you could reduce it to something like thirty seconds, that'd be nice.

I know I'm going to get tons of 'you could just post yourself'.

Oh well.

In the meantime, try adding a note in your first report saying "There is a ton of other spam in this thread too." That's what i do, although I'm not sure if it is looked at. =/

 

I agree with you. This has happened to me a few times, and it's frustrating. Usually I just leave the page and forget about that second report. I don't want to wait that long.

 

No support. Just report them take as long as it takes. Its the way its done.....its not like you enjoy getting people infractured?

 

I actually thrive on getting people to flame me, in order to get them temped.

Lol =D Well I like to see people get temp. banned, and perm. ban, but I dont go go looking for people to mess up if I think its necessary ill report, but unlike you I don't want people to flame me

 

Support. It gets annoying when I see multiple users just spamming and flaming.

 

I am agree, It takes too much time to report someone and even more when Mods check reports every week.

 

When someone reports for spamming, I normally check the thread. Although the report a spammer is such a hard task; that section normally receives about 3 pages a day in reports thats over 60 reports, lets say each infraction takes 3 mins to do, by the time we get there and do it and then infract, and move it to archives, thats approx 180 mins per day, just for one section; meanwhile we still have to moderator our sections; and I try and do some scammer reports to help the globals & manage the dispute forum.

So we are trying to do the best, and we thank members that are reporting correctly, there are also members who just report because they have nothing better to do, there goes more time wasted; but the timeframe we are acting in, is I think, reasonable.

 

This isnt a really big deal.....People who flame and spam get 3 oinfractions pretty quickly which leads a temp ban....

 

I'm not gonna name.. but if some people manage to get like 8-10 reports in there a day (and have the tolerance to wait and keep the page open) imagine how many they would do in just that one day.

 

Isn't the intent of the report a spammer function to...report spammers?

 

There's so much, I honestly think it should be a more dire consequence, since no one seems to get what infractions mean. Then they come complain and get unbanned as a 'first trial' sorta thing.

100% agreed! I was thinking of this myself. I think they have it on the RSBot forum, which is why I thought of it.

 

Woah, finally, a reasonable suggestion. I agree completely, the only downside I could think of is that some members might abuse it, and that there would be way too many reports each day. I think that the significance of actually having a report forum, is that the spam is "important" enough for people to actually take time to report it.
