Classical, I know what you're trying to say (Kinda) but I guess relegion is what you beleive in, so I guess to a certain extent. Science is kind of becoming a relegion..... but one that actually tries to logically make sense of things, not just refering back to old books to find out what supposedly happened.

This distances it from other relegions, basically to the point of it not being able to be called a relegion.

 

Well, seeing as though you sparked a debate topic, we have a right to try to convince you that you are wrong.

A few questions beforehand, though:

1. Do you believe in God?

2. Do you go to church?

3. Do you have any evidence that there is a God(if you said yes to #1)?

4. Why do you go to church(if you do)?

 

I'm not going to answer those questions, it will be all pointless.
I'M JUST SAYING LET PEOPLE BELIEVE IN WHATEVER THEY WANT TO BELIEVE.......

And yes I do believe in god, but I don't go to church every sunday, like once every year.

Science is not a religion. Science is simply inductive reasoning and observations of patterns in nature. There is no science bible, and unlike science, you are not going to be eternally damned if you don't believe a word of it. Science is based on patterns of things that ARE accepted to be true, and trying to make use of them in a broader sense. It doesn't even have to contradict theism.

So, why don't you believe in scientific theory? Here, let me recite a famous quote by Albert Einstein:

A scientific theory is something that has been thought about, discussed in depth and has a great deal of evidence to support it. Scientists don't just "make up" their evidence, they experiment many times to provide evidence for it. Commonly the evidence contradicts the theory, therefore the theory is either ditched or revised.

Let me show you something. Get up out of your computer chair. Jump three times. Why don't you float? Gravity! Gravity is a scientific theory. Why is it a theory? Because we can't empirically prove it, we just know it exists around largely dense objects (such as this planet, or for the matter, a star such as our sun). Now, how to helicopters work? Surely those spinning blades couldn't possibly lift an object off the ground when Gravity is there! But wait, air! The blades cut through air on an angle which pushes the helicopter through the air itself (in simplest terms, I'm sure you don't want an entire physics assignment). Helicopters would not be possible without science, nor would planes, cars, ships, rockets and man-made satellites. All of these revolve around the theory you are just dismissing without a moment's thought.
