Have you ever met a deaf person? Thoughts

Have you ever met a deaf person? If so, what did you think of them? If not, what do you think about deaf people?

I'm taking American sign language II for one of my classes, so I know a a few things.

 

I have indeed met a deaf person. No big deal really, they can do basically all the same things we can do. Their still functional, it wasn't hard to communicate with her either she could read my lips very well and could kinda enunciate her words just enough so I could understand.

The girl I met was very nice =).

 

My neighbors are deaf, it's not very hard to communicate with them and they are pretty friendly people.

 

I work with a Deaf guy, he doesn't talk and I haven't tried talking to him but he friendly and minds his own business.

 

Yup i did, and i found it very hard to comunicate with him and socialise BLESS.

Nope, and don't really want to. I think it would just be weird because I can't really talk.

 

Yes, one time I was running in this summer camp I went to and accidently bumped a little girl and I told her sorry, but her big sisters told me she was deaf so I had to make like a certain gesture in sign language. This was like 5 years ago so I don't really remember how the gesture was.

 

I've met many deaf people, but all I can say in sign language is 'Blow.Job'

It's sad, really.

 

One of the tech support guys at my school is deaf. I have relatives that are practically deaf, but not officially i guess..?

 

I never met a deaf person before. I seen one.

 

Yeah and he has the richest parents ever. They live blocks away from us but there's warnings of "Deaf Child" everywhere.

 

Umm , i met one guy (he couldn't speak too) he had somekinda handbook , that explained me everything , how to respond , wasn't hard actually

Note: i do not live in USA

 

My girlfriends mom is deaf. When she wants to talk to me she writes stuff down

I write back, etc. She can hear vibrations though..

 

i use to work at a pizzeria in my town and a deaf couple use to come in. it was sometimes are to understand what they wanted but it worked out in the end..

Yah, I know some deaf people. They're normal.

 

I havent met one ,but i dont see why they would be different with a hearing aid.
