should i upgrade to windows vista home preium

guys ive been dowloading this most people say it sucks is that true?

 

Don't download it, yes it sucks.

 

I think you should get it. Before I had to buy a new computer that came with Vista I thought that it sucked because of all the things I had heard about it but after using it for a while I really dont see whats wrong with it. I even kinda like it.

There's nothing wrong with it. People just make it sound bad.

 

It has more functionality than Windows XP, and that is why people don't like it. They just use compatibility as an excuse. Vista runs nearly everything XP can (except very old deprecated technology that XP supports). The new features sort of "scare people off", so to say.

ya windows vista is horrible. less programs and apps are compatible with it

I kind of prefer XP in the actual sense of the operating system.

If you're a gamer and want fast performance, stick with XP.

If you're just a regular user and use the web, read emails etc then I don't think downgrading to Vista is a bad option.

Personally I stick with XP anyways.

 

What do you mean by downgraded?

I run Vista Home Premium and it runs my games fine with no lag, what are you on about?

 

Please if you are going to get Vista make sure:

-you have a shitload of ram. I currently have about 2 gigs and I can't even play WoW without lagging; it's not terrible lag, but it is fucking annoying. all the bullshit vista runs eats up ram, i've tried disabling tons of stuff it helps a little but not much.

-if you have a laptop, get a mouse for it. the touchpad occasionally makes the mouse go fucking nuts and start going around clicking randomly and moving the mouse around by itself. i'm not aware if this is a problem with all vista laptops, but my acer laptop has this problem and so does my dad which is a compaq

 

Yup I run counter strike 1.6 and source better than most people run it with xp

 

I prefer XP to Vista. Using XP would be an upgrade.

 

You must have something wrong with your computer, Bad Memory, Slow Hard drive, or a outdated Graphics Card, because I have not one problem running World of Warcraft and games much higher rating them WoW.

Vista is better, newer technology is adapting to the NEW operating system, not xp. Games run better on vista, because of DX10. You only need at least 1gb of ram to run vista ultimate and that's with smooth performance. Go cry somewhere else

 

I find you question lacks detail, you should tell us your system specs and what you will be using your pc for.
I tend to find vista better for newer games because of DX10 however it will chew up alot of your ram so make sure to have atleast 2Gigs before upgrading.

 

In Vista i always hear that something is loading or etc. My hard disk is always busy. In XP it's silent.
