Kid get's expelled for making a map of our school on CS.

This happened last year, but I just saw the maps, it looks EXACTLY like the school (I go to the school) every single detail is right, down to the paintings on the walls, chair's, etc.

New's Video (with clips of the map)

It's unbelievable, he got EVERY detail right, fucking crazy.

    /props.

Discuss if you feel his punishment was deserved or not.

(PS: Kevjumba, a youtube celeb. goes to the same school ;O http://www.youtube.com/user/kevjumba?ob=4 )

The punishment was completely stupid, who the fuck cares? It's just one game, it's just a tweaked map. It's just like making a modded picture of your school and getting suspended.

The press and the school boards need to learn fucking basics.

Expelling him for that shit is illegal. He needs to fight it.

It's not illegal to expel someone for that merchant.

Schools only need reasonable suspicion to take action against someone.

I don't think it's right that he was expelled, but the school was well within their limits to do so.

It was a bit too far, but think of how long it would have taken him to do it. He must have had a reason for it.

I can't watch the video due to download limits, what was the school's reasoning in the expulsion?

The boy made a map for counter strike that resembled the school he goes to, right down to every detail. It must have taken about 500 hours + to make it.

Very stupid reason for expulsion. There was not even a good suspicion. He tweaked a map, and thats it. Now, if there was cpu people in there, to resemble students, it could have very well been a way to plot a killing, but there was no cpu people, so expulsion is pointless.

If he took it to court he would most definitely get some kind of compensation, no Judge is arrogant enough to overlook the irrationality in that accusation.

You know that gives me second guesses making a map of down town Virginia Beach, like the cops almost took my camera away when i was taking pictures. it honestly is just silly how they would do something like that over a computer game, it's not in school. and how did they found out about it in the first place?

    It's just total bureaucratic garbage.

I can tell I'll be fighting this kind of stuff for the rest of my life.

That's pretty much skill, to make a map like that...
I think he should get unexpelled.

I can see why they'd expel him for it, they'd think he was planning a school shooting or something. But I don't think it's deserved, he was just having a bit of fun making a counterstrike map.

People are blowing it way out of proportion. It's a harmless video game designed for entertainment value.

On the other side, with all the recent school shootings, I could imagine the thought would be pretty uncomfortable for other students attending the school.
