    Vegetarians? Why?

If 500,000 people, including me, kill an animal every 5 seconds, and I decide that for the next 5 seconds, I won't kill one, then no, it won't be the same amount.

How is being a vegetarian an act, lol? You've never been, so stfu. Some feel that they simple are too weak, and admit to thus, to slaughter and/or consume an animal who has possibly shared it's thoughts, stepped where it's stepped, sniffed where it's sniffed, blinked when it's blinked, and such.

They know it's more natural then manufactured foods, and they sometimes change because of it's naturalness, but for some, it's about morals.

I guess it's just lucky that vegetarians don't have to pop ANY PILLS in order to stay healthy, while getting everything the body needs in their diets.

    Vegetarians? Why?

Have you ever heard of the saying, "A dog is a man's best friend?".

Yes, this is why there are billions of vegetarians living, right? I guess all herbivores are extinct, right? Why don't you get your information right and stop trying to make someone else sound dumb.

Okay. I'll eat salads for 5 years, and you eat your red meat and bacon for 5 years. Let's see who has to be the first to get on medicine or take pills to get protein. I PROMISE you it'll be you.

No one cares what you rather. This thread isn't title "Carnivores? Why?". If you feel like eating a steak, get off of the computer, do so, and mind your own.

No where near. I have yet to meet a vegetarian who would deny their selves meet simply because their parents do. It's mainly about morals, or religion.

    I don't understand vegetarians...

All the meat is chopped up and sold in stores anyhow, and it will just go bad if you don't eat it.

The more vegetarians, the less meat that has to be chopped up, sold in stores, and go bad.

    Vegetarians? Why?

Vegetarians make up a minority of the market, and most humans are brought up eating meat, hence maybe a vegetarian or two will appear out of many thousands. You're basing your argument on "what ifs", and they aren't quite enough to sway the slaughterhouse I'm afraid.

Besides, I don't give a fuck about the animals. We aren't going to run out of cows any time soon, so I fail to see a need to conserve them. Similarly, sheep, chicken and so on are in the millions, therefore there's not much of a need to save a few hundred from slaughter. The common stock are not endangered animals.

Solong as humans are the dominant race, we will eat meat. That's how things work. Our intelligence allowed us to surpass that of other animals and multiply. I think you're failing to see that we were once preyed upon before we gathered means of defense against predators. If animals kill us without any moral wrongs, simply for food, why not kill them? The only part of the loop that is broken in that circle, is they can't defend themselves and we can.

Ok, chimps...you know what happens to a plant when you cut it in half? IT DIES.

You know that juice that comes out of plants when you cut it open? YEAH THAT'S PLANT BLOOD.

    Vegetarians? Why?

Being a vegetarian is bad for the body.

You don't get the sufficient vitamins, minerals, etc that you get from meat.

Not naturally, anyway. Vitamin supplements are needed for a few types of vitamins.

    Vegetarians? Why?

My God! Will you fools please read this thread and at least get a source which tries to argue that vegetarians can't get the necessary nutrients from normally grown food? I'm sick and tired of these assertions.

    As above.

    Read: http://www.adajournal.org/article/PIIS0002822303002943/fulltext

Or if that addles your ignorant minds: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarian_nutrition

Vegetarians make up more like 3 in every 100 people, actually.

Humans decide what is morally wrong, and most humans do give a shit about how animals are treated before and during their trip to the slaughterhouse, as well as the process itself. I for one haven't argued that eating meat is morally wrong, but that allowing for excessive suffering of the animal is.

    Vegetarians? Why?

Iron is mainly derived from meat products, eggs, legumes, etc.

"Low levels of iron in the blood can cause the soles of the feet to burn. Other symptoms of low iron levels include: partial deafness, brittle nails, pale skin, night sweats, eye soreness, the feeling that you're not getting enough air, asthma, weak rectal muscles, tired in the morning but feeling better at night, heart palpitations, cold feet, sore joints, ankle swelling, loss of bladder control, lack of concentration and difficulty remembering. Sounds a lot like old age doesn't it. Maybe that's why they call iron "The mineral of youth.""

You can't get cotton mouth from taking pills, mostly only from smoking..

    Nice intellectual dishonesty :D !

    The real quote:

And not only that, it follows it up directly with this:

Which just happens to be sourced to this article: http://www.adajournal.org/article/PIIS0002822303002943/fulltext, which I included in my last post!

Vegetarians can eat eggs and legumes, nor is it hard to get iron in a vegetarian diet. What are you getting at?

    Vegetarians? Why?

In a vegetarian diet, iron is scarce.

You have to resort to vitamin pills.

In a normal diet, you don't. You have all the iron you need.

You can see for yourself how wrong you are by reading the sources I link you to, as opposed to deliberately misquoting them.

Erm, yeah. Let's take a random day; cereal for breakfast, toast later, an omelet and beans at dinner, and I've already got more than my iron RNI.

And I'd eat a hell of a lot more than just that anyway ;)
