    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

Yes but by getting guns, then people defend with guns, and then someone brings a bigger weapon, and then the other side brings a weapon...
Don't you see that if nobody had a weapon in the first place then nobody could kill? Once someone brings a weapon, then everyone else wants to be equal so they get guns, and like I said above. That's why the US are getting atomic bombs, and then other contries need them to make it equal.

I'm assuming you meant they shouldn't because they can go mad?

It would have to be a concealment holster then, but nice afterthought - personally I wouldn't be comfortable with that, regardless of whether the gun was in an ankle holster or on the teacher's belt. I think most people would agree.

What if a kid steals the gun somehow? What if the pistol/holster isn't decent? We're talking about millions of kids and about hundreds of thousands of armed teaching staff here. If you look at the records of violent deaths in school, there are usually only one or two victims because of the shootings - it's either suicide or a grudge against a few people i.e. nothing an armed teacher could prevent in time.

Never. If 1 student gets a hold of that gun, all hell will break loose.

No. If we put guns in the school than that PROVES that a place of learning has been overturned by violence. There is already police, there is no need for average teachers.

Teachers are just people at work teaching, if teachers have guns, what's the diffence between people at regular work places? I saw an 2 instances in which a suicide man drives his truck into a restaurant and gets out, pulls his guns, and unloads.

Another, is when a woman went to a postal office (her place of work) with a handgun, and shot her co-workers.

There ARE school massacres but they were VERY unlikely, the state of emergency is happens barley and we don't need over 200 handguns in a school to prevent mentally challenged members of societies with a deathwish.

The United States has nuclear weapons to deter attacks.

Would you attack a country with a couple thousand nuclear weapons, and an elite military?

Or a good military with no nuclear weapons?
We have no intention of using them. That is why we still have them, and why we are still in the UN for fucks sake.
    Anywase.

No, I don't believe that someone will get a pistol, just because his teachers have one. That is highly unlikely.

See, I disagree with that stand (even though I respect you opinion;) ). Teachers, administrators, professors, etc. are role models to developing children. If I was a student at an Elementary School and I saw my principal with a loaded firearm I'd think one of two things. 1. Is school really that unsafe that my principal needs to carry a gun? 2. That's cool! I want to grow up and carry a gun around. As you can see... #2 would cause problems farther down the road because there would be many more kids carrying guns around thinking it was justifiable because their teachers were doing it. And on top of the fact, we just need to face it there are hot headed children at school that blow up for the slightest thing, and would you want them to be introduced to firearm while they were having a temper tantrum? I don't.

I think the way that this issue of school violence is that the parent(s)\legal guardian(s) take some initiative and raise their children to know that violence is wrong. Plus, society in general has to get away from the idea that "the best way to solve any issue is with my twelve gauge in my shotgun". No this doesn't mean strict gun control blah blah garbage, I'm cool with people shooting guns are firing ranges\hunting in general.

You're first point: Well, Al Qaeda has done it and basically made fools of us for basically fighting everyone in Iraq + Afghanistan. They don't seem to mind.

Point #2: We have no intention to use them? Why do we keep developing more advanced nuclear bombs if we have no plan to EVER use them (doesn't a nuclear bomb that blows up half a country good enough?) Plus if we have no intention of EVER using them I think we're already breaking that promise (I.E. Hiroshima + Nagasaki).

Point #3: I disagree, if you and your teacher have a bad relationship and you know he\she can have a short fuse and they posses a fire arm (that they'd be permitted to carry to school) you wouldn't have anything to protect yourself with? I think either all the kids would get armed, or the kids that wouldn't, wouldn't attend school for fear of an escalating situation.

    On to the topic;

Yes, I think they should be armed. Especially the teachers who work with some retarted kids. I mean ill kids. You never know when they can attack you. They have minds that they do not controll, which can end up actually quite messy. So again, I say yes to being armed in schools.

    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

If the teacher is trained where to shoot, there won't be much blood loss/death.

No1 said lil kid. There are school for retarted people for age 18 and above... They have the same muscles, the same streanght of a normal human, just that their brains don't function as they should do. But they still have all their needs a normal human does and the anger of a normal human, but they cant control it. So, we are not talking about retarted KIDS here.

Yes, that's the aim to be a teacher. Educate, know where to shoot retarded students.

Dude fuck off, you and your immoral beliefs.

Teachers should never be armed, if people want to be safe they should have security guards and metal detectors etc. Not fucking armed teachers.

I could fucking kill a teacher if I wanted to, hide it in my bag, teacher turns around and BAM. The armed teacher is not going to help, and after the student goes out of the class room to kill more teachers or students, the guards will get him, if teachers were to have guns, they wont reach on time/wont be ready/ not trained for it.

But a guards sole purpose is to protect people from these kind of events and knows what to do. (How to disarm/where to shoot/how to hide/what to do.)

Oh and if someone wanted to kill the faculty and the students of his school, he will be extremely ready and know a way around the system, he wont go "Durr dis is my daddys gun, boom".

    Think logically fool.

And why METAL bullets? Why not rubber or BB guns etc?

"McCain/Palin'08." and you're a christian. I laugh at your ignorance and foolishness. (I really am, not trying to insult etc.)

You little slave, go away and rot please.

I totally agree. Two familiars will only lead to more destruction and havoc, given the possibility that a student did come with a gun. "Bang, bang!" I'm on my rampage, and I run out of bullets. Oh, look, a teacher is armed, I'll shoot her, take her bullets, and kill more!

I don't believe teachers should be armed, however if it DID come down to such lows, not metal bullets. It's just retarded. Wouldn't tranquilizers provide better result, aswell?

    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

I never said they had to be lead bullets. Infact, rubber riot bullet would be better.

McCain/Palin'08 - Because I cling to my religion and guns.

Obama said us Republicans cling too much to our religion and guns, and in fact, that's a true statement.

So, doesn't that mean Obama is not true in his faith?
Yes. REAL, Christians will die for their faith. But Obama won't openly admit he's a Christian, Muslim, whatever the hell he is.

And eh, ever heard I'm Alive - Disturbed? I'll give you a verse.

-I'm no slave are you feeling brave, or have you gone out of your mind? One suggestion; use your discretion before you label me blind.-

    Exactly.
