Avatar / signature spot while being DNT

I dont think so ppls shoud be allowed to use avatar / signature spot to advertise any kind of service while being dnt.


Example:

THIS HAVE NOTHING TO DO AGAIST LAIKA / ARIBA ITS JUST EXAMPLE.​

I dont have anything over laika / ariba i just saw those two users having basicaly advertisment in their profile while being DNT which is not really fair since they can post in diffrent sections and still lure ppls to their site.

I dont get why DNT'd users retain any user priviledge like this. Defeats the whole purpose of DNT and Banning if they can still advertise their shit.

If you're DNT'D, you're obviously not allowed to trade nor advertise. Seems like oversight on the admin's part in implementing bans and DNT. Clear your DNT if you're so-called 'innocent' and then be allowed to advertise your shit.

 

There has been a discussion with staff about having the DNT usergroup's signature disabled, but there wasn't an easy way to do that, it would have to be custom coded. Something like this is very low priority if it even was on the to do list. If you see a DNT user with a signature or user title that could potentially lead to scams, feel free to report the user's profile and a moderator may remove the advertisement if they feel its warranted.

1. Not all DNT are scammers

2. Some self DNT don’t make money on sythe through direct sales, so they rent out their signature space. I know this is a rare case but still, to moderate that would be annoying.

3. Even if you are DNT, you should be considered innocent until proven guilty. Imagine someone who just spent $30 on a signature and avatar or whatever. Now all of a sudden someone reports them ( possibly rightfully so ), and for that whole process, they no longer have an avatar or signature. Just seems a little complicated, when most people ( I hope ) are smart enough no to trade or interact in commerce with someone who has a DNT ( unless a self DNT ).

Also, a lot of signatures have links to vouches.

I think a user should be able to show off their discord handle in their signature if DNT. I think they should be able to keep their quotes in their signature while DNT, etc. I just don’t think it would be possible to make everyone happy with this.


3. As Jason said, would have to be coded. Waste of time, energy, and money IMO.

1. About the first part, I don't think staff needs more work

2. DNT means do not trade, which means, another user shouldn't trade them. It doesn't mean they aren't allowed by the rules of sythe to trade. There is nothing in the rules that says a DNT user can't trade on sythe. It is not up to the user with the DNT to stop trading, it is up to the user potentially trading the DNT user to think about rather they should trade them or not.

It is not up to the DNT user to say " Sorry m8, can't trade you in DNT"... it works the other way. The burden is on the other user, not the DNT.

I am wrong. Attempting to trade with DNT is against the rules.

Although my opinion still stands on no support, as I think its low priority. Burden is still on the non-DNT user attempting to trade. If the DNT user then trades with a DNT on, then he/she are breaking the rules. If there is already a rule in set, Idk what more can be done

In regards to point "3." you sound like the type of person who will leave a mess at a McDonalds and be like "It's their job to keep the place clean."

Exactly, I actually reported a thread for this a few days ago. They was actively bumping their thread around like e-books or similar products because it isn't essentially "game market"

 

Support, I think however this should be handled «case by case». If for instance @Bolt owned a gold site and had it in his signature I agree staff should remove his signature. But let’s rewind a couple of months ago where @Won_gold o_0 got a DNT/banned due to irl issues, I don’t think it would be fair to tax their business when we knew they intended to sort it out once the irl issue were resolved.
TLDR: Some people not intending to pay back or resolve their issue on sythe should have it removed.

 

I think its fair. Should wongold still be taking ppl's money and doing business when they're clearly NOT in a healthy position to do so? Nope.

So staff should have the responsebility to babysit every sythe member cause they keep visiting links in DNT'd peoples signature? Not fair.
Theres this thing called common sense, don't click on a signature link if the person is DNT'd. Simple

 

I'm not saying they should, I just replying to your assertion that people like wongold keeping their signature simply because they're in trouble makes no sense lol(all the more if they were in trouble which if i rmb correctly, they were, they shouldnt be encouraging ppl to trade em).

And as the other thread i posted already said in the ruling, its been made a Sythe rule banning this.

No one's gonna force anyone who's dnt'd to remove it. Like you said, staff cant be babysitting the community. But it is now against the rules to even advertise. And anyone who is caught and reported by another user for advertising while DNT'd, will be banned. That was the whole point of this suggestion. It's been made a rule, and to a large extent the community(mods included) will be the ones enforcing this rule.

 

I'm going to offer support as well. Someone who is DNT should be losing all privileges. That includes being able to advertise.

 

I support this, it is obvious that this should have been coded a while ago. DNT should mean that the user has no priveledge to Advert/sell anything, having a signature that could lead to their personal website could get more people scammed.
