Will the world end in 2012?

Even the chinese calendar ends at 2012

 

This is what I have told every one of my friends. I made a few articles online about the mayan calendar and how it works. The calandar can't go infinitely. They didn't have the knowledge to do so.
So no, there is a very VERY slim chance, like 0.000000000000000000001% chance that anything "drastic" will happen. But more likely than not; no.

 

quite plainly...apparently everyone thinks the world will end in 2012 b/c the mayans didnt extend their calander? makes sense.

though you still have yellowstone terrorists that comet the massive solar flare and global warming among other things

I think people will die on 1/1/12.
I do not believe the world, itself will end.
The people living on it may kill themselves on it, but I'm taking "end" as, the planet ceasing to exist.

 

The calendar had to stop somewhere, and they probably thought that they wouldn't survive anywhere near that long.

"End of the world" prophesies have been told, and, as you can see, they seem to have been wrong.

Here's a list of prophecies set in the near future, and a list of failed prophecies. They look eerily familiar (basis on very vague "evidence", or none at all).


To answer your question in a single sentence: I don't see any reason for the world to end, specifically, in 2012.

Why all of a sudden.. (at the time of the start of this thread) is everyone freaking out like "OMDDF!?!? WOELSD ENDING?!?!" No... It's not going to end... But something big is going to happen.

No because the Bible says, that Jesus won't return when people expect it. He will return like a thief in the night. Since people expect this year... it's not going to happen.

In my opinion, nothing is going to happen, and when nothing does happen, people will make things up as excuses.

 

No it's not going to end then. There have been countless years when there was even more evidence of apocalypse than this one... it's not going to happen.
