if teachers were armed... there would be lots of problems like...
getting the students attention with a pistol whipping... shooting into the air with a gun causing the students to go deaf.

No, I don't think teachers/professors should be armed, but if it was necessary for some odd reason, I agree with what wowhamba said:
Or Airsoft guns, that use plastic BB's, which hurt a little bit less than normal BB's.

"School massacres" aren't necessarily an every day thing.

If an administrator demands a type of weapon because the place they need to keep order in facilitates it, then maybe they should be armed.

A more safe option would be pepper spray. I'm not really sure that teachers should be carrying guns around for the sake of having guns.

    Interesting thought though.

Using italic text doesn't make you right.

    A two negatives = positive..

    Like Shawn said, -2 -(-2) = 4.

How would more harm come of it? If a "deranged outcast" is coming at you and a group of people YOU are responsible for, would you not want a gun to kill him before he kills you? It's common sense.

There is a reason countries have a military, protection. It's the same concept.

    Teacher = military
    Students = Citizens

If you knew anything about guns (sounds like you've never shot one) they cannot make you go deaf...

I shoot guns everyday without using ear plugs

Hey Grammar Nazi! Did you notice that the second two words of your incomplete sentence have no space between them?

In my opinion, I don't think teachers should be allowed to carry guns. I think this would make students feel more threatened and more likely to try a teachers patience.

    That's just my opinion though...

I don't think teachers should be armed, Not necesary in my opinion. A school massacre could just as easily happen with a frusterated, upset teacher.

    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

    4.

Why, would there be an accident if it's secured in a holster.

    'Rambo'

So, wearing a pistol, is dressing like 'Rambo'

    Have you ever seen Rambo?

Doesn't he wear a belt of ammo around his chest and carry an m60, or a bow?
My dad shot an intruder, ambulance was here within 10 minutes, cops 30 at the most.

If a teacher ever pistol whipped someone, or even hit them, they should be in jail for assault.

And shooting into the air? Do I even have to reply to this one..

Oh yeah, cause firearms can shoot someone when they're secured in a holster.
This would defeat the purpose of carrying a firearm.

Anyone under 18 isn't legally aloud to carry a firearm without a personal carry license (in my state atleast) anywase..

If teachers are allowed, why stop with them? Why not give everyone one, and then we can kill each other. I think the answer is obvious.

We give teachers guns, then students will start bringing more guns (if there were any in the first place) then we'll need people to be protected from teachers and students. By giving guns to teachers we are saying that they have power above all others without them. Why shouldn't people in shops get guns? These people will also come into contact with students with possible guns. Then everyone will want a gun. Why not just have no guns? The people with guns are the ones who are trained with practice, and for the justice system. Teachers know nothing.

what would teachers gain by acting like chuck norris...

it would just make it a more dangerous enviroment, and a more uncomfortable one for everyone.

It's called hyperbole. Look up the word.

The number of accidental deaths caused by putting guns into schools would probably be more on average than victims of high school shootings. And think of the atmosphere an angry teacher and a loaded weapon would create in a classroom of 13 year olds.

2 out of 6 of my teachers are ex-military, and own firearms themselves.

I'd be pleased to see an armed store owner.

Just means he'll never get robbed.

If there's no guns, there's no way to defend. And if the teachers have their pistol locked and concealed on their person at all times, no one will ever know.

So if the pistol is CONCEALED (this means hidden), then the 13 year olds wouldn't notice.
And if the pistol is CONCEALED (once again, this is HIDDEN), it will be in a holster. With a good holster and a decent pistol, it will never go off.

Sorry Fat, had to dumb it down for you.
