Can you pop the bottom of a pop can?

I think it is impossible to pop the bottom of a can outward.

On a pop can, for instance mountain dew or sprite, you see on the bottom how it goes inward?
Take the can apart, leaving only the bottom.

Try popping it out.
IMPOSSIBLE!

You're right, I just tried and all I did was dent it, and it was hard as hell even to put the little dent in.

 

Well, I have always wanted to try it.

I know how to do it very easily.

Put the can in the freezer.

 

I was going to say leave it in a hot place for a few days.

Same thing though.

 

Freeze it and the liquid expands, thus pushing it outwards.

Just go drink a soda from the fridge.

When you are done, rip the can so that only the bottom is left.
(when I did it, I had a little bit of the sides still)

You cannot pop it using only your fingers or fist.


If you try punching it or kicking it, I am not reliable for bloody hands.

I actually remember in chemistry 2 last year, we took a coke can, filled it with a bit of cold tap water. Then, we put it on a burner for five minutes. We had had a tub filled with water beforehand though. Then, we took test tube grabbers, and flipped the can over upside-down into the water very fast. Boom, popped bottom.


Personally, I don't think that it is possible by hand.
