    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

In schools, should all teachers, administrators, professors, etc be armed?

    My position-

Yes, even though it's a school, I'm sure having an armed teacher would prove less "school massacres."

    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

    Why would they be armed?
I think it would create more trouble, and more accidents, than it would prevent massacres.
The institutes would have to check for firearm training, and even if they are trained, I think it would be easier to get a weapon to shoot people with, rather than a preventative.

i think it would be stupid to have teachers armed. two kids jump a teacher get the gun and that causes problem. what happens if the teacher has someone wrong going in his/her life a student ticks them off they have a gun on their side and the thought would definitely come to there head...

    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

FUCK NO...When I was in high school a lot of teachers went on power trips and went into a yelling frenzy. A good amount of them would show very little restraint when it came to behavior problems.

Yea maybe that one psycho kid would think twice about bringing a gun to school, but teachers would definitely be shooting kids lol.

    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

I think the greater question at hand here is:

Should children be forced, by law, to attend an institution that is potentially unsafe for them?

    No.

The day where a teacher needs to have a firearm to prove superiority in a school-system is the day where this world has truly gone in down the drain.

This man tells us it is too late for that.

A gun law in a school is no different than a gun law in a home.

Only the ones with malicious intent will have guns, as anyone else would be breaking the law to do so.

Because of this, thirty people die.

Yeah, lets bring guns into schools... Guns are never the answer, If guns weren't legal in America and so easy to get, I'm sure there wouldn't be so many school shootings.

    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

No... Teacher should never be armed. The only teachers/professors I would allow to have arms with them are any subject that directly contradicts religion. But only armed with rubber bullets or BB guns. (They might be attacked by religious students, I know there are campus guards etc but BB guns aren't really harmfull.)

    Other than that. NO.

No, ofcourse not. Teachers should be an example for kids, and if they carry guns, kids will do the same.

    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

With guns, No. thats deadly so much so that the problem wouldn't be students shooting up schools teachers would. Don't even think about bus drivers. people that are crazy grow up crazy. Do i think there should be at least 2 cops in schools (high schools) it is not common that a school gets shot up n it's only happed like 2 times in the past 5 years. But if it happened like every week then you have a bigger problem.

What if, say, a student decided to pull off a mass killing, and had no gun of themselves? Most definitely, they would head straight for the teacher's/professor's gun. Overall, it could be helpful, but for the most part, it only increases the chances.

No. Two negatives don't equal a positive.

    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

    Um, yes it fucking does.

You've never heard the term "double negative?"

    In short, yes they should.

However, they should be locked up, out of sight and reach of students. If the teacher simply carried the gun around it wouldn't be that hard for a disgruntled student to get a hold of it.

Some areas, however, (like my area) there is really no need for it.. The chance of a school shooting here is pretty small.

    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

There was a story on T.V about how they are letting teachers in a texas school carry guns. They had a little girl on their that was asking questions to her mother. She eventually asked "If im bad, will the teacher shoot me?" What would you say in this situation?

My response would be : Fuck yeah, you better be good then.

    Should Teachers/Professors be armed?

why do they have to be armed.?
but for my opinion they shouldn't cause if the teacher gets mad.
because of a student that ticks him/her off it will be BAD..
and if they were armed it shouldn't be like something like a gun or a knife a meat cleaver maybe.? well they should use like rules and just spank student's asses :)

A double negative is not even remotely a positive...it's a negative, obviously, and I have heard of the term.

What I'm trying to get across is that, you will solve nothing by having teachers carry weaponry around the school, in case of the 3% chance that a deranged outcast goes bonkers and decides to kill every one. More harm than good would come of it.
