*real* How to make a Private server!

I have a linksys router. When i tried to do number 6 the log in to your router box never popped up, i tried turning off my popup blocker and refreshing but nothing works.

Stuck on part 5, i'm using a d-link router, and when i try to type my ip address in my web browser address bar, it gives me a page load error, i'm using firefox 3.x if it matters. thanks.

 

hey...I have windows vista home premium so step 4 doesn't work. it says to go to control panel, Network and internet connections, network connections, then right click on your internet connection but the oonly thing vista has is network and internet. can you help me out?

im not really good at coding and making server...
