good guide but to be honest AVG is terrible.

 

good guide, knew all this. but AVG id have to say is just wack. go out n spend like 100-150 bucks on some of that good stuff

First useful guide I've seen on User-Submitted Guides in about a year. Bravo, good guide.

 

Thanks for the guide. Currently Defragmenting. Already did Disk Cleanup. But I don't see the program Disk Checker. And also just finished downloading AVG Free Version. I had ClamWin which was recommended by my uncle but I like AVG better.

 

I've known most of these things.. but I never do them... I've got it all working now Yay, thanks for the reminder!

CCleaner
Does an extremely thorough job of cleaning the crap files out of your system. Lives up to it's name.

Comodo Firewall Pro
A great free firewall that does a fantastic job of securing you against trojans, keyloggers, and attacks. A must for every computer.

TCPOptimizer
A tiny program that lets you edit your maximum bandwidth and other TCP settings. Max out everything, and you'll find that your internet connections are much faster then they were before.

 

I think you should upgrade pictures of the new Free AVG style. I followed your guide and got rid of PhotoShop CS3 and it runs a lot faster. Thanks.
