Usually for Anime names it's last name -> first name if they're meeting the character for the first time. Surnames like "Shiina" for Mashiro and "Kirisaki" for Chitoge can fetch a ton since they're used as the names of the characters for the first season. Other times even though they are the surname for a character, they might be never used and are relatively unknown, especially if its from supporting characters of a lesser known anime. So Japanese surnames can either be worthless or worth a ton depending on the Anime / characters.

Well, he did say it was meant as a guideline and that it meant something to him, resulting in a higher valuation from him than what you or I would evaluate its worth at. Another example would be the 2 letters "ef", which won't mean anything to most people - but someone who particularly enjoyed the anime/visual novel "ef - a fairy tale of the two" or has a background in numismatics might pay more than usual for it.

Yeah sure you can buy any name for any amount if the buyer is willing to pay a certain price just to get a name he really wants, however that isn't the usual price these names range between, I didn't calculate any emotional value

0-5m, I personally think name is worthless but you could sell for more if you find a fan.
