I don't believe in God and for our existence I believe there's a scientific theory behind that.

Hey there mr Smartypants, if you're so SMRAT then tell me this; if Protestantism evolved from Catholicism, how come there's still Catholics? Oh yeah, guess you didn't see that one coming, eh? CATHOLICISM AND PROTESTANTISM DISPROVED.

    The Existence of God

I believe in god =] But i dont believe what the catholics/protestants believe, and if you say wheres my evidence? ill reply with the bible =] Gods written letter to mankind, and before all your smart ones out there go "Oh so god literially sent a book down from heaven" No, he used people to write his messange into it, as found in i believe its psalms, it says quite clear that the earth is round, a sphere in apperianc, and it took 1600 years afetr that was written for scientist to figure out the world was not flat, but was round, and if you dont believe me, send me a pm and ill find the exact verse where it says that, and you can go find a bible and read it yourself =] But yes im religious, i dont mind other peoples opinions on things, also the topic about hell? Id gladly say thats aload of crap =] There is no Hell, like some people have quoted earlier, if god was loving and kind, why would he send people to hell? wouldnt make sense would it? And as for the evil and wickedness on earth, mankinds imperfection and satans influance on us, we all suffer, and we all cause suffering, im not perfect, neither are you, everyones imperfect, but be open about your religious ideas and such, as i dont take offense, and just a small forwarning, i dont care what you say about ym religion to me, i wont change my mind, but unlike most here, i had a choice to grow up with it or not, and i choose to, as it makes em a better person, but please bear in mind Im not a Catholic/Protestant =] Thank you for reading

    The Existence of God

Why do you believe in God?

Why do you believe that the Bible is God's word and not just a storybook?

Why don't you believe in God?

Here's a quote from one of my history-study books:

"Pythagoras accepted the world as a sphere about 500 BC. Eratosthenes of Cyrene, head of the Great Library of Alexandria had proven the earth to be round. Knowing that on a certain day, at noon, an obelisk in Luxor (s. Egypt) would cast no shadow, at exactly the same time he measured the shadow of an obelisk in Alexandria. He knew the height of the obelisk and the distance between Alexandria and Luxor; the rest is trigonometry. Claudius Ptolemy's geography is also based on the concept of the earth being round, and Sun, Moon and the stars orbiting around the Earth."

You claim to believe that the Bible is the word of God, but you nitpick it. The Bible clearly states that sinners and non-believers will burn in Hell for all eternity, but you disregard this with an Argument From Personality Incredulity.

You also seem to be under the impression that believing is a choice. Belief is the psychological state in which an individual holds a proposition or premise to be true, fabricated on evidence, logical conclusions and personal experiences. You don't choose to be an atheist, you're convinced to be an atheist.

Seeing as you're unwilling to change your mind (even if disproven), there's no hope for you.

Do you know what Protestantism is?

Protestantism- The branch of Christianity which broke off from the Roman Catholic church at the time of the Reformation.

Reformation- A movement which resulted in the formation of the Protestant branch of Christianity. A reforming of Christianity which eliminated certain doctrines and practices of Catholicism which were deemed incorrect.

When you take a tree, break off a branch, do you still have a tree?

Or does the tree dissolve? Gone? Does it disappear?

    No.

I didn't see it coming, because I didn't expect someone so retard to say something like that. o_O

This "book from God" seems to be tainted. What objective standard do you use to determine what material in it is/is not true?

I think he was making a satirical reference to the common argument against evolution - "If we evolved from monkeys, why do monkeys still exist lol?".

    Because I believe.

    And that's it.
I was raised in the church, so I don't need proof.
    It makes sense to me.

I am looking for a "higher" answer than "because I believe". I am looking for the justification. You have a positive belief - God exists. What makes you hold this belief? Note that disbelief is the standard position - a newborn baby does not believe in God.

I was raised in a Protestant church.
I never questioned anything up until i was say, 12. And when I questioned, things made more sense.

Sorry to say but, you obviously dont listen. NO where does it say in the bible that all people who arnt believers will die and go to hell, also im very impressed with your history and choice off words, but as i say, i choose to grow up with it, i have questioned it and ym questions have been answered, i havent been brainwashed as i truly beleive my religion is the best way off life, as catholics say that theirs is, even though half off them are raciest/homosexual's/child-molesters/crooked/greedy/slanders/hardly religious at all, but thats my view =] but as i say, everyone has there own opinion and beliefs, im not here to convert you into anything or start a arguement, im here simply to express i believe in good, wouldnt you say thats understandable?

There is no proof. None at all, other than a book that anyone could have wrote in order to profit.

I've been to church once because of a friend, it was Sunday and on the way to snowboarding, so we pretty much had to, according to his mom.

Anyway, I almost laughed out loud when the old people started singing into the sky and raising their hands, like there was someone important listening.
