What do you think about it?
Is it going to be better and more user friendly?

I trust adobe to make IMPROVEMENTS.

    So far, they have

    CS < CS2 < CS3, I'm assuming the pattern will continue

well, from cs2 to cs3 they didn't change a whole lot, so i think the real changes they make will be hard to pick out

All they do is make some tiny changes and get loads of dollars for those few tiny changes every year, if there are some major changes that are usefull Ille switch over from cs3 to cs4

I am going to make the switch, if the changes involve a more intricate use of 16 bit, or 32 bit colors. If the changes do not impact those areas, it doesn't really matter to me.

drastic interface overhaul, improved screen real estate usage

    Pretty drastic imo.

But I use photoshop ~6 hours a day, so it probably makes a bigger difference to me.

See, this is how I look at it; Adobe has this list of all the capabilities of Photoshop, and every year they doll out something new in a newer version of PS. - Kyle Warren. (Advanced Photoshop Teacher)

I agree with Mr. Warren's statement when I asked him of his thoughts on CS4. But if you CAN build 3D models..I'm considering getting it.

Looks interesting, I don't know much about cs4 but like Jansen said, if the pattern continues then all is well. So far looking good.

I'd rather prefer cs3. Even though it's the older version it would be more useful and I'd know the tools more. I really can't make this decision yet, as there is no trial for cs4 yet.

this thread was made BEFORE CS4's release.

I have CS4 now, and must say it is significantly improved in terms of the UI.
