    How would you take this

I have had some drinks on the beach with family and friends... We are walking up to go back to the room.

We got to talking with one of the employees and they kind of out of nowhere said

    "can you walk straight?"

never talked to the guy, or seen him. kind of out of nowhere? I kind of just thought in my head "why the fuck is it any of your business?" but let it go as I don't like to make scenes in front of family. I wasn't being loud, obnoxious, we were just minding our own business. Idk i'm just really confused and sometimes over think stuff. Am I over thinking here lol.

I was not feeling very intoxicated at the time, but I had had a few beers for sure. I don't understand why an employee would say that to me? They were just around my age maybe a bit older. I'm legal drinking age.

Hotel staff will have a duty of care for customers and would want to make sure you can get back to your room safely, no good if you fall over while drunk and break a bone. It is no different to the police helping drunk people get into their taxi home or helping them up off the floor.

I think that you might be overthinking it a little quite honestly :p

When I worked in service, I had to ask guests how they were doing and/or if they were okay on a regular basis. So I am fairly certain that he did not have any malicious intent with his question. Like Laptop said above, he was probably just doing his job by looking out for you.

It really depends on the way he said it but they were most likely concerned with you making it back to your room safely. ;)

You are over thinking it my friend, it's not uncommon for someone if they see/feel you are not completely there to ask if you're feeling ok.

Let's say you was to trip and hurt yourself on their grounds, they would be essentially bad repped at the least for not living up to a certain moral standard.

I would say it's always good to be weary of what's going on around you, but to some people you can see a little distant or such which is why they ask.
