Change the rules for cheating in CDT events

Can you explain why I was banned for 6 months on first offense if these are the rules?

 

Pretty sure the vote was because you guys knew I had no intent to scam CDT out of $30. I also offered to pay it back MANY times before you even brought it up to CDT that I should be banned.

So my offense should fall under the 1 month category, no?

Even more so, nit-picking and faulting someone for their English, when yours is fucking attrocious, in all aspects of phrasing, prose and grammar.

OT: I agree, cheating punishments should extend to all prize based events.

 

This is a cheating forum.

People cheat in game(s) for monetary gain. While it would maybe morally make sense to ban people, in the end all they're doing is playing some stupid poorly organized game/event to make money. If the CDT or whatever team running a competition can't properly enforce cheating then that's on them.

It's already pretty ridiculous that there's even "rules" for cheating in competitions.

Sure, maybe ask that they have to give back the prize and then do something if they don't but it's just funny how there's a rule where they have to be branded as a cheater on a cheating site and have that usertitle if they cheat right now. I never knew that was a thing. Like why would anyone have to publicly know that the person is banned from competitions?

Edit: Just to clarify the CDT should be able to obviously bar people from participating however they want, it just shouldn't dive into being against Sythe site-wide rules.

This thread is toxic. On topic I support as well. Depending on what the prize is it would be considered a form of scamming.

If someone is caught after they have gotten a prize, just force them to return the prize and give them a TWC. If they cant/dont return it, DNT them

@Naughty does good work on CDT now even after cheating then. A ban is overboard IMO and people can easily learn from their simple mistake. Cheating on an event is a different lane than scamming someone. TWC or perm ban from events, but not from the site. The poll reflects this itself.
