100% hard work, I'm competitive in nature but I'm horrible at most games I play so I grind it out and work hard. Season 2 I was placed in bronze 5, instantly made a new account.

If you're stuck hovering around this rank, stop worrying about LP/Victory/Defeat it's irrelevant.
You need to start looking at the game in regards to how you performed personally, you can't do much to make sure your 4 teammates try their best, so you have to make sure you're playing yours.
Look back at your games and see if you performed well, win or loss that's a win. Also if you performed bad even if you win it should be seen as a loss.
Consistently playing your best with minimal mistakes will see you climb.

but, a 100% loss rate with S+ on every game would rise the score and rank according to it? (i do not lose 100% of game and i dont get S+ on every its just an image)

How many days would go by where you feel that your skill has deteriorated? I’m diamond in flex and solo queue but afraid to play again because it’s been 3 weeks. Might let my rank decay

That's not what I'm saying, I'm saying to stop paying attention to your rank and LP and focus on the fact that you either played good or bad regardless of a win/loss.

This is a hard one and it is different for everyone. When I take long breaks it takes me awhile to get back to my previously level. It's not the mechanics just the mindset, same as when I boost for too long and forget about my main, you can't get to accustomed to the play style of another rank then hop back into a higher elo and play the same.

    @OCE King
Hey :p So I have been playing League since Season 2, but I have quite honestly never ever been good at this game. For the longest time, I have consistently peaked at low plat and that is literally it. Lately though, I find myself only ever enjoying playing Riven (my oldest main and I have been consistently playing her since like... ever).

My problem is that, when I am top lane, I hear that top tier players play safe and don't make mistakes. Okay sure that's cool and all, but when I play safe, it allows the enemy top laner to get level 2 first then I proceed to get zoned and lose out on gold and xp. Against champs like Renekton and Fiora it's devastating to me because if I want to go in I get forced out of lane thanks to a horrible trade. How can I address this?

Another scenario, once I get through the early stages of the laning phase, and we are still laning, I find myself oftentimes feeding kills. When I am playing with my friends, over the years it's become a very common thing that I die 1-2x in my lane at least, and more often than not I usually come back in lane and dominate. I die a lot due to ganks and just being overly aggressive in general and (I guess it may sound dumb and all), but I feel like because I don't have to mentally think about what abilities to execute when, I overestimate my damage and end up killing myself. Or sometimes, when I feel like I can get an easy kill but I know i have absolutely 0 vision on the enemy jungler, I decide to take the risk anyway and go for the kill but I almost always end up dying. In this situation, it's like... I know I can win the 1v1 easily and put my enemy laner further behind, but if I do nothing because of a fear of a potential gank then it will give my opponent time to build up more gold and xp so they can become a threat to me. What would you do in this situation? Because I am all about putting the enemy down and keeping them there, but it often times backfires on me and I end up throwing a seriously good lead.

With Riven in general, if I get smashed in lane, I go a more tank-focused build compared to the bruiser type. My issue is that, when it comes to teamfights, I am oftentimes the tankiest person on the team. That's a huge issue for me because, when I am playing with my friends, they often wait for me to engage... and when I do, I press R then E, Q, W and I proceed to get CC'd and instakilled. Then the teamfight is lost.

I guess this is more of a personal issue but... for the past year and a half of playing with my friends and me playing Riven, most teamfights have been like this. And for me, Riven is my most favorite champion and that is what I am known for in my group of friends. But because of teamfights like this, me constantly getting smashed over and over, it has seriously hurt I guess you can say my willingness to play her, as much as I do. (Maybe i'm being dumb to you but that's just how I feel about it).

As a result, I end up most of the time split pushing 24/7 and just letting the enemy win the game because I think to myself, "what am I going to do? Just stand back and watch them take the towers? I might as well be pushing a lane and taking some towers than stand there and be useless."

There is more on my mind but i'd like to see your input on what I have posted above. Ty for reading this :p

So for starters, one tricking is fine, when you're confident enough with a champion you can start to worry about other things instead of focusing too much on your champions mechanics since you already have that down pat.

    • It's not that top tier players don't make mistakes or play "safe" they're just more conservative and understand the impact of being too aggressive early on and that it isn't necessarily a good thing. For example if you get first blood on them and burnt flash and they proceed to lane freeze, you're in a really sh*t spot now and being really susceptible to getting ganked for the next 5 minutes.
    • In regards to matchups like renekton, there are just some champions that out duel you and you have to accept that, ideally you don't want to miss CS but what's more important is not missing the exp, so if you go in for a creep and get taken to half health you'll be in a bad spot, either having to run back to lane or tp. In this match up don't take the bad trade and miss a few cs, Renekton will be forced to push and then you can cs safely under tower.
    • So if you're used to a matchup you usually lose to early but start to "dominate" later in laning phase, lets just remove the early duels from the equation and farm as best you can til you hit that power spike where you can dominate. A conservative play style seems to be in your best interest here.
    • In regards to having no vision up and wanting to make an aggressive play, that's fine. You can generally tell where the enemy jungler will be during the first 10 or so minutes if you pay attention to where they started. So the current meta most junglers will take 3camps and 2 buffs then contest over the scuttle at 3 minutes 15. Camps are on a 2minute 30sec cool down if I remember correctly, so pay attention to where they could be or where they reveal themselves on the map and you'll know if you're safe or not to make a risky play.

    • Playing Riven isn't an issue, your issue will be with doing what she excels at and that isn't being a mega tank/team figher/split pusher there's better champs for those jobs. You want to try take control of your lane by abusing her early-mid game dmg/cc/mobility.
    • When these mistakes happen don't just get frustrated and move to the next game, look at what you did wrong and the next time you're in that same scenario try take a different option, so if split pushing didn't work don't try it the next time, if you're getting dominated in lane play conservative at tower and ask for some jungle presence top.
    ________

There is quite a lot to unfold and digest here so I'm sorry if my answers were a bit generalized. You could always improve with a bit of coaching just like anyone and maybe you should consider taking a lesson or two.[/USER]

Ty for the point by point response! Ngl, as much as I play and have played her there is still so much for me to learn lol - it feels like i've wasted too many years not progressing.

I like your suggestions though, I never thought that a "conservative playstyle" would fit me lol. I have always been the aggressor/aggressive player looking to take people down and keep them there.

Sorry about the large post, didn't mean for it to contain too much to digest lol xD I probably should look into coaching and taking lessons. It's just that last I remembered they charge like 50$ a game to watch and i'm not into that kind of mess lol

I'd be more than happy to give you a lesson sometime, I usually charge $10-15 for a game+review of the game. Up to you though I'm not trying to force it on you. It's all just a mentality problem, sometimes you need to be aggro other times not so much.

Hey :) I'd just like to point out, I was playing against a teemo top and I was implementing your conservative playstyle and asked for jungler assistance. It was incredible!

I lost some cs, sure. I was behind -15 creeps, alright. But by playing safe I was able to get so many more kills with jg and also I was roaming mid a lot which was something I never do. I helped get myself and jungler and mid laner fed and we won the game :p Ty for the advice! After my exams this Monday I'll set something up with you
