Establish better ruling in market sections

So what I am referring to is for example, I have had to just argue the case to get my inferno cape thread "unlocked" although it's still locked.

Why you may ask? The reason is, "I don't meet the requirements" I get the requirements, and I still don't meet hidden requirements that have to be told to you on PM because they are not on the thread(s) that are provided with information for us.

You must post at least 1 completed Fire/Infernal Cape picture. threads such as this state, "You must post at least 1 completed Fire/Infernal Cape picture." I have provided 4 capes so far, 1 of which also risked our customers account by speaking in game which is something jagex can easily track as a purchased cape.

In response, I got told I need a "recording" of us completing it, my question and real problem with that is why are these other threads not doing the same? I have been told it's because they are established which just sounds like favouring one person over.

I would like to see what other people think, and maybe we can get actual updated information to it all, so if we need to show our real life pictures behind a cape that's completed that needs to be there, if we need a picture of the queen with us to get in sure we can have that listed to - All these hidden rules are what are causing a problem, especially for new upcoming services.

I would understand if people being rejected for these such things were newcomers to the websites trying to set up shops, which even then is still quite harsh really considering it's a free market, but still there should be updated rules if the current ones of "talk in game to confirm" are no longer valid.

 

There is a lot of money at stake regarding this specific service. It’s also risky on both ends in regards to bans and not being able to prove who took the gear of the account etc.
I support the idea of this being at staff discretion who gets to have a thread there and not. Imagine if anyone could just follow «5 easy steps» and have their own thread? There would be a massive amount of scams.

One part that would need to be addressed is yes, they could scam massive amounts that's correct. Also a risk we take each day with the market though, many people shown to be prime examples.

And as for the "staff choose at their own desire" that just sounds bias.

 

I would assume this would be voted on by the entire team (?) If you work hard for it you should be able to establish a thread in the section, considering your vouches. Nothing in life comes free

Now, going by what I am saying some of the rules that have not been updated yet, and have been confirmed by 2 staff members are that we need video recordings (like a gif at the end confirming), should this not be enabled for all users wanting to do the capes?

A lot like the whole "speak in game" portion, idk, maybe i'm over thinking it.

 

Since we are on the steps of a service like this ourselves, I would most definitely like to have a clear list of what is specifically required to have a thread up in that section. Quite honestly, it doesn't make sense that your thread is locked if you have the sufficient proof of completion.

In my opinion, having multiple screenshots, and taking into account the services' overall credibility should be sufficient. But if a video is required then that'd be nice to know beforehand.

The inferno section is still a work in progress, we have not yet fully established the requirements. The few services posted in that section were reviewed by an admin as they were already well known/vouched infernal cape sellers.

You unfortunately made your thread during our transition phase and once we have finalized the requirements you should be able to apply for it

 

I'm not just referring to the cape situation, I just used my reference as a stepping stone to understand my view.

More than this is needed, I understand that all good things take time.

 

I honestly think more sections need to be moderated like inferno, account sales/rents are just as risky, but aren't given that much attention

 

Exactly my point, it's easy enough to again going to the inferos, btw you need to update your thread with a "gif/video" of inferno completion too.

As much as putting in hoops after hoops are good, it doesn't justify the fact that no one will either use it, or you will look bias letting 2 people do sales and not others.

 

From what i have learned so far -

The "people who are already swapped over" are trusted, or have been doing it for a while.

This reason being that we now have to jump through hoops to get our own cape services, there was a cut off date which I was roughly a week and half/2 weeks in front of (when they made the extra sub) and this apparently wasn't "reasonable" pretty much in the eyes of what ruling needs to be taken and for that, despite me having 3 different types of pictures wasn't enough.

Picture 1) end of caves, confirming we got it customer also got the pet.
Picture 2) in the caves killing it, not said out loud as it can be traced.
Picture 3) Said in game, risking the security of a customer for their own please.

- Still my thread got locked, and was told "we need a video of you killing it now", I don't see why... I understand they are risky to do, at the same time users are taking no real risk by using a ACB and void, or ACB with full karils/verac helmet.

The same should apply in different sections all together, why are there certain rules in place for some and not the others, and for me at least I still don't get it, the fact of "they have done it a few times so they are fine" just sounds like they are being favoured in my opinion. Again this should be the same for other places too not just inferno.


Edit - Don't forget, didn't get the same sort of issue with @umy ? lmao, people are giving these positions to the select few, not those who are already "established" elsewhere, sure I understand in my case I don't hold many vouches (just over 200) but that doesn't mean i'm any less of a user than the other, after all I have 2,100-2,300 overall on all different forums and have more than just a "Sythe" profile to lose.

 

At the time this was a work in progress, now we require new providers to send a recording of the inferno being completed before being allowed to post threads
