Little difference but yes it makes you somewhat more trustworthy, but in the end it's a mix of things such as your join date, vouches, reputation, etc. Just as you stated, Bolt is a great example of why you shouldn't determine whether someone's trustworthy just by looking at the amount they've donated.

Doesn't matter to me, I don't think a donation to the site is an accurate representation of trust.

In theory, somebody could quite easily donate $5000 to the site, start an inferno service for a ridiculously low price and have a bunch of people in "the queue" and then hack them all, taking their twisted bows, ancestral, elys etc.

Sure they might have donated $5000 which they'll potentially lose (They could ring the bank and say "oh that wasn't me I have no idea what that is, charge it back") but if they have a queue of 10 people waiting for infernal capes with tbows then they've not lost anything at all.

Obviously, this is all theoretical and highly unlikely, especially as they could donate $200 and achieve exactly the same results whilst risking even less. They wouldn't even need to know how to do the inferno, all they'd need is some knowledge of Photoshop really.

I think a person should be judged by their vouches solely, not donation status or join date. A non donor with 25 vouches of a decent calibre (no "vouch got me 1-30 woodcutting" shit) would win every time against a $100 donator with 10 vouches in my eyes (if they're at the same price).

Join date is also irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. I've been scammed by a user with a 2009 join date, and I've had services completed without anything going missing from users who've joined within the past month.

Somebody could grind out 10 agility services in a month of joining, whereas someone who joined in 2009 could have never provided service before. It depends on the provider's integrity and work ethic, nothing else.

Personally, I believe that all that a donation status does is gives users a false sense of security. I'll probably never donate to Sythe because I don't have funds flying around to spend on frivolous things and I don't really see the benefit to donating. No hate to anyone who chooses to do so, but I don't plan on setting up a service with workers or whatever and once I've earned myself the money to max both of my accounts I probably will stop doing services overall.

Before anyone gets tilted and says "Oh but you make money from Sythe so it's only right to pay it forward"... Fuck that. I make next to nothing for the number of hours that I put into power levelling for other people. The fruits of my labour are to help me survive/train my own account.
