Problem being they dont stay in their little Runescapejew worlds. They come invade the rest of the forums.

Regardless, that's not really the point 'ere. Even though it does contribute to the sythe cancer, that's inevitable with an RS cheating site.

First of all, the accusations you are making here about me are out of line. Are you saying that the only people I care about on Sythe are the ones on my shop? If so, you are completely out of whack. Take a look around and you'll see that I am fighting scamming in a big way on the Gold/Item Exchange. I took down some big scammers by researching them in depth, taking hours out of my days to figure out a case. That's the stuff you don't see when you're browsing the forums, and the reason I am here on the staff.

You are finding the negatives in the relationship between being the main GP seller on the site, and being a moderator. Now how about I introduce to you the positives. First of all, I have more experience trading RS stuff for real cash than anyone else on this forum. This allows me to spot a scam much easier than regular users. Furthermore, I am always active in the Gold/Item Exchange, which is the area needing the most moderation on Sythe. This is where the biggest trades take place, and where the most preventable scams take place as well. As the top seller on the site, I am constantly browsing the forums and therefore I am in a unique position to pluck off the scammers as soon as they start posting.

Also, for those complaining about how the Programming sections are not as active as they used to be, get over it! Things change over time, autoing / macroing are not as popular in this community as they used to be. The Black Market has evolved into an extremely active area through Richard's work on google. You're entitled to your opinion on whether this is a good or bad thing for Sythe.org, but that's all it is, an opinion. The Black Market makes Sythe a very active site, and brings in a ton of traffic. If you want a tight-knit small community, then look elsewhere, because that's not what Sythe is about anymore.

Well nao sir, I know people are gonna rage/flame/insult me for posting because oh I just joined in September 2008.

I only registered in september 2008, But I have been reading and lurking since 2005 I believe.

But I must agree with the people in this thread, and to simplify it even more.

    Sythe Needs Help.

Edit: My bad, I joined in August.

    Seriously?

Whenever i look into the blackmarket i see r2p's post somewhere..either a locked thread, his gp shop or him selling something. Just because he isn't doing everything you can see, doesn't mean hes not doing anything at all. If he can catch a scammer or two a week, then thats good enough for me.

The site has changed, atleast since i first joined. Change happens. Get over this. Some things are about money, some things aren't. If i had the chance to make thousands, i would exercise every opportunity i had.

Btw, why aren't you a mod?

    edit/

And how does sythe need help?

When I said Sythe Needs Help, I meant in terms of the Staff needs to put more effort into the community.

The Sythe MMORPG is a great idea but is it really POSSIBLE?

    Sythe.org needs help, believe it.

No, its not. But if sythe would like to waste his money on a silly game, then that is up to him.

I agree to part of that. I mean that most of the good staff are gone, that i can remember anyways. But everything in life changes, for the better or the worse.

Many people have been banned over the fact that staff could get away with things

I'm not a mod because the only measure of activity that matters is the mod logs.
    </sarcasm>

I never said R2 doesn't mod the markets. The problem I have with R2Pleasant is the constant favouritism he shows towards his customers. I've seen his posts many-a-time in the staff lounge. Things like 'my customer wants this done', etc. No-one should get special treatment just because they've paid a staff member a large sum of money. That's tantamount to bribery.

That's the conflict of interest that I'm talking about.

I agree. I was lurking around Sythe for quite a while before I joined - I started lurking a few months before RuneCMS was taken down and Sythe.org put up. I agree that the community has changed, but change is inevitable.

Well, people who are reading this thread. A lot of you say Sythe.org is going downhill. What are you going to do about it? I'm sure if enough of you put your heads together you could actually think of something to bring it up again.

Don't really have much else to say.

I haven't been on Sythe for a long time, but after reading this I can see the way people feel.

You have no concept of how things work. Just because I am helping someone on Sythe who happens to be a customer of mine (and A LOT of Sythe members are past or present customers of mine by the way), does not mean I am doing so because they are "paying me a large sum of money". I am in close contact with a lot of my customers on MSN, so if they need something done, such as a reason why they are banned / whatever, it only makes sense that they would ask me, seeing as I am also a mod on Sythe.

You seem to categorize these people as if they are purely my customers, and not members of Sythe. Sure, I am in closer contact with most of my customers than with some random guy on the site. I'm sure you have certain people you talk to regularly on MSN who you are closer to as well, but is that necessarily a bad thing? If one of your buddies from the IRC asked you for some something, I guarantee you'd put a lot more effort and care into it than if some random guy asked you for something via PM. That's human nature, and it's no more an issue with me than it is with any other staff member, past or present.

The only reason you are singling me out is because I'm making some money on Sythe. Is that a crime? Does that necessarily make me a bad Moderator? So far the only actual example you have of me being a corrupt mod is that I've requested some help for Sythe members who are also my customers; help that is completely unrelated to GP selling, and help that they deserve as members of the community.
