    Which language?

Lately I've been thinking about some cool ideas for programs, etc. And, I'm disappointed with my lack of programming knowledge. I know some Java, Html, and CSS. But I'm more interested in programs, not web.

I'm extremely good at math, I understand it easily.
It seems I need deep explanations on what each thing does, but once I learn once, I never forget. I wanna learn something easy, but challenging.

    Any suggestions?

Simple programs for personal use like auto clickers, music players, Runescape switchers, calculators, etc.

VB 6 for a challenge, or VB 2008 for a walk through.

Yeah I would go with VB 6 because later on you can develop to bigger programs.

I wouldn't say VB6, it's outdated. If you're beginning, you're probably better off learning a language which is actually kept up to date.

Try anything under .Net. C# is extremely similar to Java in terms of syntax and code structure, so I recommend learning that. More information at http://www.microsoft.com/express.
