credit cards for 25-27 year old with student loans

any good recommendations for credit cards? never owned one before just wanna know what I should be looking for

 

Discover is good, if you have a friend that has one already he can refer you and you both get a $50 credit

I can vouch for discover as well. Great company. I’m 27, and I’ve had mine for almost 10 years. I used my Delta AMEX more for the sky miles, but prefer discover.

 

Capital 1 has a good program where you start off at a low limit, probably from 300-500. As you make frequent payments and keep your usage at a steady rate they will automatically expand your limit.

 

While the suggestions on this thread says Discover is a great card... unfortunately it is not. Best credit cards are now all about how much points you get per spending or cash back. Customer support wise, maybe Chase or Amex imo. Citi double CB for 2% is the best all around card.

 

He's never owned one before. Unless he has a pretty decent income, it'll be tough to get a solid credit card at first with those loans on his back.

 

i mean discover has cash back at least, take a look at the new apple credit card coming up, theres no cash back or anything on it iirc, it's just used because apple

 

Why do you want a credit card in the first place?

 

I have used Wells Fargo one it works great

Have one with Ocean 0% for 6 months, I just pay for all my fuel with it then clear it after 1 month to build my credit. been working well so far.

 

The citi double cash is the best credit card!! I’m 25, was recommended to use the card by my 29 year old brother. Basically all your purchases are 2% off on the credit card unless it’s Venmo or something like that (you just pay the regular amount)...... it’s nice having everything on the card at a 2% discount! (Groceries, movies, etc.)
