Religion: What it holds for the fate of man-kind.

A religion is a set of tenets and practices, often centered upon specific supernatural and moral claims about reality, the cosmos, and human nature, and often codified as prayer, ritual, or religious law.

The basic arguement of this thread is to explain the impact the 3 basic religions knows as Christianity, Judaism, and Islam will have on the fate of man-kind. I have reason to believe that the fate of man-kind will ultimately be decided by the war of religion. Yes, the "war of religion", believe it or not a religous war is in play. The constant threat on the major religous city of Jerusalem is only the beginning of a long list of threats against religous groups through-out the world today.

    Religions and their guide lines:

Christianity - monotheistic religion centered on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the New Testament.

Basic Understanding of the Christian Religion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity

Islam - monotheistic Abrahamic religion originating with the teachings of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, a 7th century Arab religious and political figure.

Basic Understanding of the Islamic Religion:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam

Judaism - monotheistic religion based on principles and ethics embodied in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh), as further explored and explained in the Talmud and other texts.

Basic Understanding of the Jewish Religion:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judaism

    What can happen?

    World War III

If the Afghanistan extremists belonging to the Taliban group again take control of the full country and if a nexus between them and the neighboring Islamic countries like Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, etc. develops on the basis of a Holy War for the faith called Jihad as said in Koran fructifying in the minds of the hard core Islamic fundamentalists, there is every chance for a Religious War occurring in Africa, Europe and Asia leading to a Third World War between Muslims, Christians and other religious people of the world in the near future. This has to be carefully noted by all the leaders of the world controlling the world affairs in a peaceful way and checks have to be made on the subversive activities of the religious perverts now itself so that the Future World War can be thwarted in the beginning stage itself.

A variety of things can occur, but lets see what you think the fate of man-kind will entail.

Jihad is misunderstood in the west.

The true meaning of Jihad is to protect your country no matter what. That holy word has been twisted so many ways by brainwashed idiots (in the middle east) and by your corrupt media. Look at the kamikaze pilots, they committed suicide for their countries, I don't remember you guys calling them terrorists back then.

    BACK ON-TOPIC:

You are very correct, the world will end in a war of religions, I believe it would be mostly between the jewish faith and the islamic faith. Once all islamic countries ally with each other, and all the western part of the world becomes one huge country supporting israel, world III would be inevitable.

As our understanding of reality grows, true fideism will decline sharply. If mankind can survive for another 200-300 years, I think we will be largely safe from religious conflict.

I doubt that we can survive for another 50-60 years based on the current events taking place in the world. Here is a basic break-down of the Islamic religions thought of the Jewish people, and why there will never be peace between the two religions.

Islamic religious break-down of the Jewish Religion.
    1. Jews are the enemy of Allah.
    2. Islam is fighting a continuous religious war against the Jews.
    3. The killing of Jews is a religious obligation.
    4. Palestinians are the vanguard in this war against the Jews, and all Islamic nations are obligated to assist in this war.

The best way to prevent this issue.

The best most correct way to end this problem is to isolate our selves from this crisis and let them kill each-other. It is a harsh solution but, I don't think we have the will-power or even hope enough to convince these people that their belief in a higher entity is false.

Religion will be completely dead in a few hundred years. Its allready dieing now. How many people do you know that dont live in a third world country actually follow there religion strongly? Religion is just become a belief, a comfort thing. Its not something people actually follow, they dont follow gods comands, They just thank god when they win an oscar award and go to confessions when they cheat on there wife. Its not taken seriously.

If we just nuked all these extremist muslims and such, there would be no religion.

And fuck up our relationship with Islamic countries even more? I think not. On top of that, if we Nuke 'em, we'll get into trouble with the UN.

Religion does cause a lot of problems and if you believe in Revelation in the Bible then the world will go crazy due to religion.

The talk about religion bringing about the end of human civilization is ridiculous. Religion is nothing new.

At the moment the US is thoroughly committed to perpetuating the crisis, not resolving it. We have no intention of letting them just kill each other. Secondly, the conflict isn't just about religion, it has plenty to do with politics as well.

When things get tough, humanity gets by. We're spread all over the world in all sorts of habitats - it would be extremely difficult to kill off everybody.

Shredderbeam, you are right. Let's just hope none of these Islamic countries rise to power. If that happens how hard will it be to eliminate everyone then?

EDIT: And gratz on the promotion.
