    Vegetarians? Why?

    that's a fail of a post.

you hate it yet you've never tried it?
    kay.

    anyway.

i think its fine to eat animals as long as they have been respected until the point of slaughter.

they've lived happy lives until then, let them die happy.

    Vegetarians? Why?

I've been a vegetarian for about half a year now,
    and I'm a vegetarian for a few reasons !
One, It's not needed, we've reached a point were we don't need meat to survive,
    it's just cruel !
two, It keeps you having a slim waste !
three, it's a great way to meet people. :)
I just can't stand the thought of eating something that was living just a bit ago !
    That thought bothers me.

    Vegetarians? Why?

My uncle owns a farm, when I was like 5 years old, he asked me if I would help him slaughter some chickens. I grabbed and axe and chopped a chickens head off. You know, the rumours that chickens runs around headless for a few seconds are actually true! This was so funny that I decided to kill all of his hen.

And no, that's not cruel at all. They feel no pain once their head has been removed their bodies. In wild life, they would get attacked by predators that would bite them till death. That's a slower and more painful way to die. So from a different perspective, I'm actually the good guy.

yes, but we as humans clear everything, we have made over 200 types of animals exstinct in the last 100 years, we dont know how to stop. if we went to natural options that dont harm things then its better

Why is the extinction of other species a bad thing?

Do me a favor and stand in front of a mirror. Smile, and take a hard, long look at the 4 pointy teeth you have. Those are called canines, and are used for gripping meat. Therefore, eating meat HAS TO BE the natural option, and vegetables are just an add-on.

Because certain species of animals not existing will interfere with the food chain and will cause the demise of every animal that relies on the extinct animal for sustenance. Not that every single animal is critical to our living, mind you.

The rate we're killing species off will result in these extinctions coming back to haunt us in the end. Humans depend on the environment for a lot of stuff, any biologist will tell you that.

But besides that, the reason people don't like the idea of killing species off is because they would feel impoverished by the loss of biodiversity.

Because they're wasteful and the refuse to make use of a dead animal, which happens to be lower in the food chain with the hope that they can remove the demand for meat? LOL

I was watching Fox News the other day, and they said that it's been proven that vegetarians have smaller brains that of those who eat meat.

Yeah, I read about this too, it's caused by B vitamin deficiency. Vegetarians who have crap diets are vulnerable to this, if you are smart about your diet, making sure that you get all of the vitamins you need, you don't have anything to worry about; meat eaters included ;)

We are the dominant lifeforms on this planet. Until something has given us reason to beg for our lives on our knees, I see no reason why we should respect these animals.

So what if they're mistreated? They won't know once they're dead. I feel no pity for them, but I do enjoy eating the meat they produce.

Neither would you, correct? I suppose we could all poke you with electric prods repetitively and drag you by your wrist into a bloody cement enclosure where your shit touches your feet. Then after a day or so you get slit down your chest with a scalpel and we will wait for you to bleed to death?

Yeah, makes perfect sense. Cruelty is wrong, no matter who or what is being mistreated. Humans are no exception.

Based on your post one would assume you approve of acts such as this:

and if you do approve of it, then all I have to say to you is that your a sadistic, malevolent twat that should have the same done to you.

It depends on what school of thought you adhere to. I'm a preference utilitarian in this regard - interests are predicated on the ability to suffer, and suffering is something that animals experience, to an extent. Consideration should be given to the interests of the animals that end up on your dinner table because of that suffering.

    edit:
    Seconded.

Well, it's negative as far as impeding humans goes.

What does it mean to feel impoverished by loss of biodiversity?

Well, if death is inevitable, no complaints then.

With regards to the video - if it puts food on my table, then I see no reason why I shouldn't approve.

You shouldn't approve, because of situations like that of the video. Cows treated like that are prone to numerous illnesses that can kill humans. Approving of things like that is nothing more than accepting being killed by a disease that could have been prevented. Not that I'm saying you should go vegetarian, mind you.

if the animal is stupid enough not too realise what is going on and escape its his own damn fault... As a "superior" species we control the animals. But some people think that survival is too cruel and would prefer too take craploads of tablets instead of eating the right foods for vitamins.

it has become a lot more of a fashion statement lately too more than anything.

How is it the animals fault for not being able to escape? It does realize that its going to die, and no doubt try's to escape. If you haven't figured it out already we have cattle prods, and animals have an instinct to get away from pain. Therefore, all you need to keep an animal from escaping is to get a prod and stand in front of the exit.
