[APPROVED] Rewarding buyers or sellers for vouching.

Let me remind you that most of us "made our name" under the same circumstances. And somehow we still "made it". Was it easy? Nah. But we didn't blame "the system" and did what we had to do. Not to do it is a choice.

The more time you invest in to Sythe, the more vouches you have.
The more vouches you have = the more loyal clients you have.
The more loyal clients equals to more new vouches.
The more new vouches you get = the more time being top 10 topic.

And it should be pretty obvious that OGs will have an "unfair" advantage over any newcomer in ANY market. But ANYONE can collect it's vouches on selling/buying threads. The thing is, if you have 100 vouches you won't get as many sales as someone with 2K vouches. However, we are all equal to perform "bumping vouch trick".

As someone who is buying Sythe banners you should be more than happy that other shops are leading their clients pretty much straight to your banners.

 

I was reading this thread whilst I was banned, and I can agree but disagree at the same time.

I have sold gold to many many people, including @RSGM Sales who for website selling Kaii has always been my main man for business. He has never asked me to "vouch/feedback on my main thread" but I have done out of respect for him, as he has given me a payment of which I could have gone elsewhere for but always done it swiftly unlike some others.

I do get why websites do this, and for me at least I just simply ask for feedback upon completion of a service, and maybe time to time a vouch on the thread so I don't have to worry about bumping but NEVER have I done it for a payment, although many have done so which I cant say is a bad thing, as realistically you're able to say no if you don't want to although it does encourage "buying vouches" sort of.

 

With all respect but everyone here who is against this removal of practices is only talking about the loss in Sythe traffic. I havn't heard one solid and logical argument besides that and the overly used "free market" claim to back up why this should be allowed.

@Skrizzly : your look on this is completely off. If one person gets referred to Sythe by this vouch tactic there is A) very little to show that he will browse the forum for other websites. B) the pro to con ratio is off the charts. The site who asks the person to vouch has POTENTIALLY (not guaranteed) the chance to lose 1 customer but because of the extra bump has the potential to gain another couple customers extra off that 1 bump. All at a cost of half a dollar. And C) if sites would ask to vouch on a vouch thread instead of a sales thread, Sythe would still get the traffic? Problem? There is none!

For some reason whatever i say gets overread by die heart believers that this is actually a good business practice. I'm just going to sum it all up why this should be removed and you can debate whatever u want with a valid argument to them and perhaps back it up with proof.

1. Sythe traffic loss. Well i already gave an example as to show how Sythe WILL NOT decline in any traffic. How is this visible? If more Sythe users would stay after being reffered to vouch, the threads wouldn't be spammed with low postcount accounts, but they are. So will Sythe traffic decline? No, it will perhaps get a healthy boost and cleanup from spam accounts. I haven't seen a single statistic or proof that these "referrals" bring any value to Sythe at all. IMPORTANT : If sites ask to vouch on a vouch page, Sythe STILL gets the converted traffic, so what is the problem?

2. Will these incentive given vouches be truthful? Let's be honest, people who receive gold to vouch will be biased and spread overkill love for the website who gives them free stuff. As stated before it can go as far as people who would originally leave a negative feedback, that they would now leave a mild positive feedback just to claim the free gold and just never use the website again.

3. If this is allowed, where is the line drawn? I posted this before. If this is allowed i could EASILY let people order 0.5M 07 and give them 1M 07 for free. Trust me ALOT of people will do this as they get 200% of their order free. Per bump this will cost me 0.6$. According to Sythe rules, no one can complain about it. There was an actual sale accompanied with the vouch. There is no rule anywhere that a business cannot work at a loss to gain traffic (free market). I could easily stay on the first page. It's just against my morals to do so.

4. Sythe is the only place that a vouch is used as a bump and not as a vouch. No site would give incentive if a vouch wouldn't give the bump advantage.

5 (a). It makes the vouch section obsolete. Why do we even have it? Let me guess, to collect them all? Ok good, and how many sellers do it? They go till 1000 and then never do it again.

5 (b). It makes collecting vouches on the vouch thread subject to fraud. If u see a page with 1000 vouches and u copy some doubles in it here and there to just up the number, who is even gonna notice? If someone does all the seller has to do is say "oh well shit, didn't see, my bad i'll remove them".

6. Everywhere else, offering incentive for positive feedback is against the rules. Yes yes, Sythe is not other markets, right? Indeed, but it should be looked at why ALL OTHER MARKETPLACES actually have banned this practice or the posibility to perform such actions.

 

1. no basis of traffic being affected, irrelevant.
2. can't get feedback because no system in place for that, no rating system either
3. If you sell gold and are unable to get a vouch for it, considering no feedback or rating system in place. It becomes your right to achieve feedback through incentivizing
4. Sythe is the only place that doesn't use feedback or rating system.
5. Having no native feedback or rating system is obsolete, you should try suggesting that.

6. refer to (2,3,4,5)

I made a similar suggestion last year, but not exactly the same reasons.

Although the poll results voted greatly in favour of the suggestion, it was denied.

 

I personally believe that vouches should ONLY be posted in the vouch forums. My reasoning behind this idea is because it would make the market way more fair to every single user on Sythe and I also believe it would increase activity and give new users or less trusted users the ability to operate in the market without a "Monopoly" of the same people always on top of their specific section. This would also be healthy for the longevity of the site by giving more incentive for people to bump their threads and not just get outbumped by vouches (or an excuse to "bump" a thread) which should belong and also be posted ONLY in the vouch forums.

Too many rules. If you continue to add rules and restrict the market further it will only be a detriment. While I support this rule on its face, I fear that lately there have been way too many new rules being added/changed on Sythe. Just leave it alone.

I'd support the idea but won't this give an incentive for people to start using more autobumps for trades.

As there have been suggestions before that autobumps shouldn't be allowed because it's comon for people to be offline while gettinga autobumped.
So if we take away an active bump system wo'nt this mean people automatically lean towards the autobump and this having times bumped that they are not online?

Again I support the idea but then I feel like autobumps would have to be looked at again and be taken down more tougher

 

The entire premise of the arguement here is that there are 5 or 6 threads that consistently stay at the top of the forum.

They get bumped every 20 minutes or so due to paying '1m' as an incentive to vouch on the gold selling/buying thread.

An auto bumper honestly would be fine- a bump every 8 hours is much more ideal versus an incentivised bump every 20 minutes or so.

Not to mention "fake" vouching/bumping amongst well-known gold sellers/buyers.

We all know it happens- goodie friends amongst each other just agree to post that they "bought 1b vouch" on their friends thread. No ones going to question it because the big players are moving billions of GP everyday. I know this happens for a fact.

And with that I would like to bring a lawsuit, United States vs. Sythe (2019) on grounds of anti trust thank you

Check these people profiles, they legit look like 1-2 time bumping bots, which brings another issue where you wouldn't notice if they actually were

 

What can people not understand about still 'paying' 1m for users to vouch, but instead, they post it on the actual vouch page?

This will still bring in the same amount of new people to Sythe, the threads won't be abused, and everything will be posted where it needs to be.

There is absolutely nothing stopping the websites or anyone else for that matter from doing this.

 

Reward them for running a business why?
