How to stop yourself being scammed when buying steam accounts!

No the 1st thing you want to do when you get a steama account is b uy a game. Even if its 2$ ..so that way you have proof of a purchase on that Acc.

theres other ways people can get there steam accounts back -.-

 

they can take their account back by
1) Original emails
2) Cd-keys
3) Buying games over credit card..
these happend to me twice ROFL!

 

maybe if people stopped by cheap stolen acc's, this would'nt happen

 

cuz you should totally buy expensive stolen accounts...

98% of all steam accounts sold are stolen in some way

oh.. buying a game on an account once you get it does not work if the owner of the account is also trying to retrieve the account.. they will ask you to email them from the email used to make the account.. in that case you will fail.. the owner will probably have more than one game purchased on that account.. in that case you will fail even harder.. oh, and the last fail.. steam will not refund your money on the game you purchased

there is absolutely no guarantee that the steam account you purchased will not get retrieved in the future unless proof of purchase for the majority of the games on the account. an original email for the account is NOT trustworthy. the email can be retrieved quite easily to be honest. if you trust that the email will not be retrieved, then pay the extra bucks as it can help you get the steam account back if you were to lose it.

I know i sound really dum but how do you know how many digits your steam account is? like how do you know it a 4 digit or 5 digit account? some one please tell me?

 

You can go into any game thats online(with other players) and type status in console(by pressing ~). Find your name and your steamid should look something like this:


STEAM_0:0:1234567


Just the first however many numbers after the 0:0: or 0:1:

 

I need help. jtam scammed me. he gave the account and password, and I logged onto it and changed the pass, email, and secret question, however in about 2 days, i received a message about the account being disabled as i tried to log in. I am trying to recover the account, but steam support is always telling me to provide purchase information, in which is next to impossible for the account. what can I say to them to make them recover the account for me?

There is no way you can proof that you are the real owner of this account.

Yeah, log in to paypal > Resolution Center > dispute a transaction > Unauthorized claim

I just got scammed. If it was 5 dollars or 10 dollars, I'd shrug it off, but I lost nearly 100 bucks in Canadian currency.
Method3909 claims he game me a steam account with Paypal, but I never received anything.
