    Symphonic Metal

Symphonic Metal - Symphonic metal or opera metal is a term used to describe heavy metal music that has symphonic elements; that is, elements that sound similar to a classical symphony. Symphonic metal is both a genre of metal and a name given to several subgenres of other metal genres, and as such, both forms of usage have slightly varying definitions. The genre refers to bands that combine aspects of varying metal genres, with signature female-led vocals and operatic/classical themes to give the music a feeling of being a symphony.

I don't know about you guys but, I love symphonic metal. I think I love the fact that it is something different and I just happen to be one who enjoys different aspects of life. But, check out what symphonic metal really is at wikipedia.org. This may seem like a bold comment to make but, you won't regret it.

Epica,Nightwish and Within temptation are very good bands for thier genre. But I prefer melodic death metal. Its something like symphonic metal but with growls instead of the female vocals.

Epica is the best though. I forgot whats the vocalists name. The redhead <3

are you trying to explain "epic metal" such as winds of plague, with HUGE keyboard parts that are all epic with crazy guitar sweeps and fatty break downs.

Its called Symphonic Metal, epic metal could be another name for it. But, the name I provided is the technical term for it.

And haven't heard of Symphony-X checking them out now.
