Will the world end in 2012?

It is said that the world is going to end on december 21st 2012!The reson is the mayan calender is going to end.
Also a lot of orcles have forseen the world ending in 2012.

Definitely not the latter. The mayans couldn't make their calendar infinite, they had to stop it somewhere. Dec 21st, 2012 just happened to be the spot. Entirely random, it could've just as well be October 5th, 2015. The so-called oracles are wrong more often than they're right, they hold no validity.

Anyway, no I don't think it will. It's a ridiculous claim from an old Indian tribe who probably found out how to jack off and did that all day instead of making a calender. Fuck the Mayans.

 

If I recall correctly the ancient Mayan calender was actually two calenderS; Plural. It is taught they used 260 and 365 day calenders. These were used in conjunction to create a 52 Year CYCLE (18980 Days Exact)
Therefore I conclude there is no end to the Mayan Calender. If refering to the end of a cycle and beginning of a new cycle: the Mayans feared every single "endcycle" believing their dieties would not grant them another 52 years. This "end of the world scenario" happened every 52 years since then. And it is rather funny to see the Myths it has created. I would not lose a minute of sleep worrying about the end of the world during any further endcycles.
But interestingly enough the Mayans developed their calender well, considering they would generally survive 40-50 years and not see two exact dates.

My opinion, is it is a bunch of baleongie, and not worth listening to. Really those people are just bored, and way too 'stuck up on myths' and estimate vaguely what /could/ happen.

People have been predicting Armageddon dates for the past century or so now.

Truth be told, nothings going to happen.

You could always wikipedia all the dates that people have said that the world will end, that'll confirm that nothings happening.

The myans were actually very advanced. For those who havn't looked into it, I'd suggest doing so if you're interested.

As, far as something major happening...I highly doubt it. Some things even predict it won't be the end of the world, but the begining of a utopia. I guess a bell shapped curve would best illistrate the matter.
