Not able to use bump button ?

Am I the only one?

When I click on Bump button I get the following message pop up :



I can still bump by posting though.

It's been disabled by Sythe, you'll have to use bumps manually. The reason for this was because some people were using both the bump button and manual bumps to bypass the 8 hour limit.

 

@Gladiator humm. i think Ppl couldn’t Post in their thread if they used the bump button. with exception if some1 else posted in that thread. so u could reply on that, which gives you an other bump.

 

It was achieved by using the bump button after 8 hours to bump your thread to the top of the page. Then as soon as the thread went to the bottom of the page (after an hour or two), you could reply to your thread with a manual "bump" and it would look like you were only bumping once, when in fact it was a double bump. It was quite sneaky and it was mostly gold sellers abusing it. It's now been disabled.

 

This sucks man I was using the buttom for some of my threads because I didnt want to manual bump and spam my threads with my comments...

 

Unsure if this has been posted as a news thread or not, but if not, I would suggest posting one, to ensure the userbase is aware of said change.

Agreed, really dumb idea - just punish those that exceed the bump limit instead of punishing us all

That's the logical thing to do assuming it was easily detectable, but it wasn't
