Remove UE

It serves no purpose, as most of the guides are either googled or from common sense.

 

I am a UE (waiting for my title back, long story) and I dont think that it should be removed. Don't think of it as an education section, think of it as a section for the educated. If you are smart, helping, and want to share it with others, then you should be a UE. We are a group of smart people who feel that its nice to share our intelligence with others. Now, as far as the user submitted guides. Those are other people and they can do w-e they want.

 

Now let's see, why don't you head over to the UE right now and see what's there?

There are extremely pointless guides there, like "How to please mum". What the hell is that? Completely pointless, and it doesn't share anything with others, aside from the fact that the author is a bonehead.

 

Sometimes they make REALLY dumb guides but sometimes there really good and useful. If you don't like it don't read that section.

 

It's not a matter of reading it or not(I myself keep the whole UE section hidden), but rather, it shows how desperate people are just to get a rank. If the rank were to be removed, I bet half of the current UE would leave.

It may be true that there are good guides, but the number of good guides are overwhelmed by the pointless ones.

I agree, but you can keep the guide section, just remove the ranks. People think that just because they get a rank, they are magically trusted. No, and if you remove the ranks, you'll see that NOONE will post guides anymore. They all just do it for the stupid shit rank.

 

So true and so sad but what can you do. People will do anything for ranks and common sense seems to be an afterthought for most people posting in that forum.

 

The only reason for UE is to make the site look somewhat presentable, and to make it look like we have a little bit of intelligence here.

Not to mention to give ranks to people who don't really have to work for it at all.

UE is shit, and half the guides are ripped/reworded.

UE ranks are just for the scammers/noobs that decide that everyone will respect them because they have a status outside of 4chan. Ranks should be removed, but some (maybe 3/10) of the guides are actually a good read.

 

I believe any ranks and usertitles should entirely be removed, as they only create nothing but garbage. People use the fact that they are a User Educator means they are trustworthy, and people are stupid enough to believe anyone with that rank is automatically trustworthy. It's just silly.

If you remove the rank, it'll leave behind the people who are truly interested in writing guides (if any) and keep all the good writers there.

 

I strongly agree, it should never have been brought back.

Perhaps removing the whole section would be too drastic, maybe just the ranks?

 

Then who would provide logical input into peoples illogical guides? Do you think they'll actually listen to other members? Or do Official Educators need to provide true critisim.

 

I agree, without the rank there would be alot less garbage and perhaps a few worthwhile guides.

 

I still like the donater rank etc but the UE rank doesn't matter to me.

I must agree. UE is shit. Worthless guides like "how to make yourself sick" etc. I don't really have anything else to write because a lot of others have already covered it. Down with U.E. I mean, if Macroman quit, you know its shit.

 

In the beginning, UE was very slack on who the accept onto the team. Because of that, everyone started accepting their friends and such, and now we get a forum full of stupid guides and googled crap.

 

This is what you people don't get.

Those guides weren't made by User Educators, they were made by regular users. All of the examples you are using are posted in the User Submitted Guides section.

User Education is an important section for people who are not interested in trading or programming. It will not be removed.
