What will replace gasoline?

Biodegradable Fuel. Yea... um most fuel we have already biodegraded. The bio in biofuel is not "biodegradeable".

Solar energy would only be probable if there was a break through in battery technology, but I'm sure that if there really was a break through, it'd revolutionize the electic cars.

YOU CAN'T HAVE A POSITIVE ENERGY RATIO BY USING WATER to power a car. Yes, pure hydrogen in fuel cells. THERE'S A HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Yup these two are the more likely substitutes for gasoline. Since Biofuel is already out and im sure they will find a way to use water.

It takes almost as much energy to produce one gallon of ethanol (not sugarcane) as the ethanol releases. It also drives up the prices of everything from milk to eggs to land.

 

If we were to switch to natural gas like some other countries have started to then that may replace gasoline.

 

Agreed, a shit solution really, and what's with everybody saying "water"? Water itself doesn't power anything. Electric cars? Yea nice, let the power plants use up more fuel to create electricity for us to use for our cars again, that really helps <_<, Solar energy? Meh, it could work.. but I don't think it's likely that it'll be the future power, and hybrids? No, just no..

Hydrogen will be the future "fuel", in my oppinion.

 

Imagination is gonna replace gasoline, we all get a device attached to our heads, which sucks up our imagination and converts it into electricity.

Nah, I really think H2o will be the new fuel, it's just a matter of time because the oil companies still want to make as much profit as they can.
