Skilling services through MM

Hey, imagine this situation:

I am skilling for some1. 99RC for 500m as example. 500m will be paid to the MM, and this will be paid to the trainer after the service is completed. So now the account from MM gets banned, and he lost the 500M. I am asking me now, who's fault it is, and who needs to pay the 500m? Does the owner of the acc who needs rc trained needs to pay the 500m again, or does the MM refunds the money? Or do I need to finish my job, and I get no payment for that?

I am not responsible if I am banned while holding gold.

I mean, the reason to use a MM is to be safe of scammer and to "not lose" money. So in my eyes, there's something that's not fair. It can't be the fault of the buyer/skiller when a MM get's banned cause of RWT or something like that?

 

MM's will generally NOT cover any losses for bans/etc. Even the one that take fees, say you have your trade of 500m, 5% fee (which is high), is 25m, he'd have to MM 20 trades of this type to just get even.

Use bitcoin or other currencies for the MM to hold whilst you are doing something that takes this long. But be careful to make sure you understand the ToS, the MM might pay out the BTC amount, not the USD amount, which may be lower after youre done with your 2 month service.

 

MM's fault, shouldn't be protected by their terms tbh.

 

Thats ridiculous, if you want the MM to take the blame, pay him 20% fee, not expect them to do it for free

 

?? So it's alright for a MM to RWT/Bot on an account that has someone elses goods on it, especially 500m as exemplified in OP's example without repercussion?

They aren't doing it for "free" nothing is ever done for free. They're doing it to gain vouches and further increase their reputation on the site. That should come at a price when you commit actions that lose others their money.

 

As everything has consequences, RWT'ing is against runescape's rules. There is a chance of ban, and if the MM's TOS says he will not be held responsible for any bans then it means you agree to them if you choose him. So make sure before contacting MM, as i'm sure no MM would take the responsibility for it except a few, I certainly wouldn't.

I specially choose Runecraft, because it‘s one of the longest and most expensive skills. Imagine for 99 which will take ~3Weeks. and going through MM. In my eyes, the MM needs to see, to use any acc which not get used for anything more. but in 3 weeks, it can happens a lot to an account. I don’t see any reason to go through MM, if we are reaponsable if the MM gets banned. There are some OMM who’s asking 20$+ fees on such an amount and still declining responsability why should i pay 20$ if i am responsible if HE gets banned? There’s something that’s not fair in that point.

 

It's how the game is. You want the gp to not go to waste? Easy, ask the MM if he will convert it in btc with the permission of the buyer. Or simple yet, ask the buyer to pay you in $

 

Assuming this is a hypothetical situation - if its not, you need to make a report

Liability needs to be discussed before the service by both parties (Example: We will use a middleman, if the GP is banned I take responsibility). We do not look to pin liability on middlemen because they are only there to facilitate the trade for users that have difficulty trusting each other, not to mention most have in their TOS that they are not responsible.

In absence of discussed liability we would generally split the liability equally for both parties.
