area51 m5700 wont charge(alienware)

My area51 m5700 wont charge. it wont turn on because it wont charge. i think the problem lies in the socket where u plug the charger into the computer because the last time i did it it made a spark. i bought a brand new charger after that so thats not the problem. i would like to know any info on how much it would cost to get fixed and any other helpful info. i haven't taken it to a shop yet because i haven't had the time.

na,no warranty. i got it from a friend like this. now i need to fix it.

 

use a voltage meter to check what it reaches/where the current stops? that'd be the first thing I'd do.

 

yea, i dont have a voltage meter lying around and i dont know anyone with one.

Dude your going to have to open it and ceck for broken connections. You may not see anything thats why you should get a voltage meter to actually check if power is going through. There cheap buy them at any hardware store.

 

i dont want to buy anything exept a fix for it. i alrdedy took it apart today but it wouldnt come all the way apart because of the clip where the bettery is. i really dont want to go into it to much. im gonna go to best buy and circut city too see if they can give me a quote about fixing it. i might take it apart again to see if i can get all the way apart.

 

Ummm... Nice computer. Too bad. If you still go to school and you have a shop room ask the teacher if you have a voltage meter. like what Bartaggio said. Other than that open it. Follow online instructions before openeing. do research!

 

yea, i found a good guide to take it apart, with pics and eveerything. im ognna take it apart next week tho because im going camping tomorrow-sunday.

 

make sure you have a static declinger or no static thing. i fried my comp the last time

 

Take your computer and burn it. ALIENWARE SUCKS.
