HOW can 2 discord accounts have the same #?

I just did business and lost 427M to an RS07SHOP "Imposter"

I copied and pasted his discord id and he replied to me first and we started talking. Long story short I submitted a Scam thread and made a gif of myself collecting his ID.

The thread I made was dismissed because his ID which he put on Sythe did not match the ID I collected. My question is how the hell can an imposter have the same exact name that he does?! Had I not known anybody would have fallen for that trick! Is there something fishy going on ??

Shows his discord on bottom with Unique ID (silly me discord noob) not knowing what and how to check the ID. The name and number was exactly the same to the individual I was trading with.. wtf?

You can change discord name/tag but not the UID.

Always request PM before trade.

 

You can't have matching TAG and discriminator. The person you traded had the tag rs07shop#0597, while the real tag is Rs07shop#0597. Notice the difference between "R" and "r". It's case sensitive. Either way, next time read the important stickied thread in a subsection, had you requested a PM this could've been avoided.
