    Regarding Buying Infernal Capes

I’m planning on getting one soon and have already scouted out a service provider....

Questions is for all those who have bought infernal capes before, have you guys managed to keep your capes? After 3 months? 6 months? VPN, proxy or TeamViewer?

Any of you guys got your capes removed?

Would like to know more about how it went down or what might have went wrong so I can prevent this from happening to myself :)

Not sure as I have never bought but am trying to get one myself. I feel that even if your use a proxy or whatever you can still get it removed if you have a low inferno attempt.

I think the safest way for there to be multiple attempts showing progression before a cape is achieved.

I think some do that, what about factors like key binds, click patterns, clicks per minute....do you think jagex tracks these?

If it manually checks then yeah it would consider all these factors I think. But may be inclined to give the benefit of doubt if the IP isn't different and there have been attempts to suggest that achieving the cape is likely.

Yeah that’s a tough one. Maybe try and start “teaching yourself”, then after a bit of attempts get a cape from the same ip as your home ip. That’s the only way I see it staying on there forever unless Jagex slows down on monitoring them.

i think if the ip matches and there has been previous attempts you are like a 100% to keep it.

They will not ban anyone with out being 100% sure its bought they said that on reddit serveral times, and more and more has bought and gotten away with it.

also its been a while since release so i dont think they are so strict anymore

thats good to hear, benefit of doubt would be nice....glad to know they will only ban 100% sure cases, I think they have made mistakes with wrong cape removals before too

Teamviewer is the best option no doubt.

Having someone connect to your PC, control your mouse, on your IP literally untraceable.

Inferno bans are temporary - the cape removal is the part that sucks since it is an expensive service.

OP, I was wondering the same thing. I'm currently training up so that my account can actually do Inferno but as far as I can tell the last ban wave was in lave Nov/early Dec (something like 330 capes removed). I think if you pay for a TeamViewer service - especially one that has failed attempts then a successful one - you should be fine.

there was a ban wave JUST yesterday, many people got banned doing a proxy service. I mean team viewer is the way forward, but I have no other choice due to my geographical location/internet speeds

First time it’s cape removal and a 2 day ban, second time it’s a permanent ban on your account.

I’m sure they mentioned if you’re to continue getting caught they’re able to ban you from taking part in the mini game on different accounts.

According to what I've read from users that have had multiple removals, the ban length was longer the second time but it wasn't perm (something like 2 weeks) - neither of the ban messages mention anything about being barred from the mini game, either.

One guy I read about had a second ban and managed to get the attention of a JMod on Reddit - they said the second ban was automatically done by the system rather than manually done and the mod conceded that the ban was a mistake....but still wouldn't give the guy back his cape which was ridiculous.

Ah right, I'm just going from what has been said on Mod Sween's twitter, as far as I understand he plays the main role in removing Infernal cape's from people's account.

Here's what he had to say...

can confirm with @Sillymonkey , a screenshot of my friends recent ban message showed "repeated offenders will have an extended punishment of 10 days in addition to 2 weeks" or something to that effect. aka just a slightly lengthier temp ban.

so it looks like the ban won't be permanent, so maybe they decided to soften punishment? @Ash_2007

as for inferno restrictions, looks like we will have to wait for a repeat offender to weigh in on this.
