I'm not going to argue with you because i know its not going to get anywhere (anyway we've all seen that picture posted around "arguing on the internet is like participating in the special olympics, even if you win you are still retarded"). You are entitled to post your own opinion and i am also allowed to post this thread.

Oh also, you do know a lot more about music than me and a lot of others on this site. Even though you know a lot about music, you don't seem to be giving me many bands to add to the list, i'd like to know what bads you personally class as 'emo'.

Thanks for pointing that out, i thought i might of put it on twice but i was in a hurry so i didn't re-check the list then completely forgot about it lol.

Also to the person who said Linkin Park is emo, they aren't.

 

I'm just gonna mention these bands i'm not sure whether to class them as emo or not so i won't add them to the list until someone agrees unless others disagree. Here they are:

Paramore
Yellowcard

 

Because something is alternative punk rock does not make them emo fool, there are more standards to categorizing genre's. and simple plan are POP PUNK not alt punk go read a book.

I don't listen to emo music and most of the bands on the list I havent ever bothered to listen to. I just give you the correct genre's for the bands that I do know and most the emo bands I do know of are already on there but here are a couple others.

~the almost
~ northern winter (yes I would label my own band as emo even which is kinda sad that I am playing for a genre I dislike lol)

Not quite sure if they are labeled it now as there genre has changed a little since they first came out but possibly afi aswell?

 

They're definetely screamo, I'm not sure about emo though.

Over 90% of alternatice punk rock bands ARE Emo.
Also, What kind of book will teach me about pop punk/alt punk.
Also, Good Charlotte are what you classify as 'pop punk'. Simple plan are no where near the same as Good Charlotte.

Marilyn Manson isn't really emo, but I'm sure it belongs on the list.
Deftones are kind of the same.. its more of a toss with them.
The almost..hmm, not really the band that belongs there honestly.
as I have not heard of any of your bands songs I cannot judge it.

Good charlotte and simple plan are basically in the same boat. just different styles of the same genre. and If either were to be emo I would say good charlotte is closer to it than simple plan is. I suggest you go back look over there lyrics, an there sound, and then come back with an answer.

By me saying "go read a book" I was hoping you would be intelligent enough to realize I was calling you ignorant on the subject and to go read up on it and get more fluent to the subject, but apparently you are clueless.

i've got simple plan on my emo list, and alesana, the newest atreyu album, some avenged sevenfold even, alexisonfire (sounds more emo than it actually is), moneen (has anybody ever heard of them), etc. ill ad more as i think of them

How the hell is Skillet emo? Also how is Weezer emo? Add some body like Tokio Hotel, god I can't stand them.

 

Skillet is christain rock, no where near emo in my opinion lol. I don't know how Weezer is emo since i've only heard one of their songs but a lot of people think they are emo.
