Reporting to jagex that an account was sold

Is there any way to report to jagex that an account was sold to get it banned? I'm not out much. The account was only $40 but it was recovered about a week after I bought it. I still want justice though. Do they take evidence from sites such as paypal etc to prove the account was sold?

Chargeback your money if it was Paypal. And post evidence on sythe to get the user banned from site via report a scammer thread.

That'll be a very hard thing to prove & even contact about.

A $40 RS account sale is probably not very big on their radar, just to be fair.

i bought an account a few years ago that got recovered so i tweeted one of the mods about it and told them that someone was selling that account and recovering it and got a tweet back saying that he would look into it. I dont know what happened to that account but i always hope that they banned it.

Not sure if they'd bother actioning it, to be honest.

There was a thread on the front page of the 07 subreddit yesterday with a guy claiming he was hacked...JMod replied basically saying the guy wouldn't get any help because the account wasn't originally his and the person now on it is the original owner.

That obviously doesn't mean that they aren't going to ban the account but the whole situation seemed very...relaxed?

    Most definitely.

I've actually been in a similar situation, and when I tweeted to the JMods about it, they personally looked into the account and noticed what they were doing.

I know for a fact that they go out of their way to ban accounts that are giving OSRS a bad reputation on social media, it makes their game look bad, and new players might think the game is full of scammers.

In addition to that, you should call your bank and dispute the payment. If you payed via PayPal the seller will have a negative balance on his account, and he might be charged a fee for overdrafting as well.
